We always bring uncooked p**k in. Also cooked p**k. So bacon, sausages, pork pies, tinned ham and sausage rolls. Get a stash of xmas choccies, advent calendar a must, saw one in a supermarket today AED66!!! All the tubes of sweets are good as well. Some cereals that are expensive here I put in the case as well. Have been known to bring Warburtons muffins and crumpets as well and freeze them. Penguins are cheaper in the UK. DD likes Frubes so freeze them with the p**k products and bring those. so what would happen if your flight was delayed or your luggage got lost ? how long is raw meat in a suitcase good for ? or if you freeze it does that mean you have to eat it all as soon as you get home ?? I guess it's a risk we take. The longest our flight has been delayed is 2 hours and everything was still frozen when we arrived so it all went straight into the freezer. Not thought about lost luggage lol.

I 2nd Baracuda - sells PROPER Christmas Puddings, at the checkout are next to liquer chocs! Ive brought back some pork before, in my hand luggage in a cool box with iceblock - Ive also asked the cabin crew to put it in their fridge and they have happily done so even despite me telling them what it is - they do keep it separate and well wrapped up.

Personally I would not bring in any pork products, you can buy it here anyway. I will be bringing a stash of chocolates as they do taste better from back home.

You will find that the big tins of Quality Street, Celebrations and most other sweets are a lot cheaper in the UK. The major supermarkets always have special offers. I brought two tins back with me in September, each one 890 grs. and they were 5 GBP each. (would probably be about three times the price here). I also brought selection boxes, again much cheaper. I've even managed to resist opening them !!! So long as what you want to bring is not banned here, and you are not over your weight allowance, I can't see there would be a problem. Personally I would avoid anything fresh.

Lime Tree Cafe make great Xmas puddings. i don't think groceries are any dearer here, certainly the Christmas stuff i bought last year didn't seem to be.. Do the Lime Tree put alcohol in them ?
