Ace have a lovely christmas scene (well I thought it was lovely!) and I stood and looked at it for ages - reminded me of England and B&Q! It did make me start to miss things in England - cool Autumnal days, leaves changing colour, wearing cardigans and scarves, roast dinners (not the same in the heat). And yes I also bought Christmas decorations, my teenage sons have no interest in decorating the house any more so those of you with little ones - enjoy it! DS (17 months) absolutely adored it - DH got some cracking pictures of him in the trolley just staring up at it in amazement! I think our tree at home is going to get rather different treatment though ;o).

BNBH, of all the CD's to get stuck in your player! There are plenty of CD's I could listen to repeatedly but Christmas music definitely has a season. Oh well, it's almost that time of year again so you'll be set.

I love Christmas! I love decorating the house and the smell of pumpkin pie wafting through the kitchen, the fresh pine tree smell and having friends over for Christmas cheer. BUT...I was in Dubai Mall today and down at the Pottery Barn end of things they were already playing Christmas music! Oh Holy Night, The 12 Days of Christmas...Now I don't mind the decorations etc being out so that we can get prepared early but do we have to listen to Christmas music starting in October? For Grace83 - Pottery Barn has all sorts of Fall decorations in their store (pumpkin shaped candles and fall leaf centerpieces etc) and some are on sale to make way for the Christmas goodies. Sadly CoffeeGal in my car all we get on CD is christmas CD, its stuck in there and we cant get it out! Much as I love Christmas its wearing very thin after almost a year :-(

De twist the knickers ladies, xmas stuff going on sale early gives the consumer the option of spreading the costs over a few months. I have nearly finished the gift shopping, and have been packing the larder fullof treats for the last few months now.I see countless threads on the lead up to xmas about people moaning about how they cant find XYZ and you know why? Cause the more organised have been and bought them. Oh and they are the ones that can splash the cash on all the parties etc because they didnt leave it all to the last minute and are now skint! Thanks Dubai for being super organised. who's knickers are twisted?

for xmas trees - plant street in satwa was full of them :) Thanks - good to know. I'm not really familiar with the Satwa area but I'm sure that i will find a thread in EW for the directions to the street. Basically go down al wasl, when you see Iranian hospital turn right - that's plant street.

Shops here (in UK) have had Christmas stuff like selection boxes, biscuits etc on the shelves since early September!! Should be a ban on this stuff until at least end October.

Too early this year. Guess they want to make some money after a misfortunate year. Recession sucks.
