Hi ladies
I totally forgot to follow up and say thank you - but thank you :) due to the recommendations I received this has now been SORTED! Thank God! :)
Try www.vitalcertificates.co.uk my husband is a British Citizen living in Australia and we are moving to Dubai very soon, we used this company to attest his documents. They can deliver anywhere in the world, they do this on a daily basis and are professionals in this field. Check out their website I am sure it will be helpful. Good luck :)
I will not be home for a few hrs but if you are in a hurry look through my old posts. I have given the agent's details I used a couple of times. I did this in uk and took about a week. There was an option to pay extra to have couriered to Dubai. I recently DHL'ed my DD passport to uk and it cost me AED 210
You have 3 choices - go home and do it all yourself ( still have to use post)
or.from here ...
Part 1 .You need to post the docs first to the FCO. ( We have just done some of this) Read below. You pay online and will have to courier there and back. Takes about 1 week in the UK plus your courier time from/to here.
Part 2: The UAE bit.

Currently they are not accepting same day applications and it takes about 6 days to process documents. Again you can do by post.

Maybe different documents have different requirements but I have managed to get all my docs attested by the British Embassy in Dubai -including our marriage certificate from Barbados! They're really helpful and really quick.
Don't know much about the UK procedure but when i needed to get some docs attested back home we used a agency which was approved by our embassy. all the documents were attested within 15 days. there was urgent fees too if required. so you can check out which agency collaborates with UK embassy.
Hi ladies, I'm in the midst of the most infuriating bureaucracy I've ever experienced and would love some tips / advice / pointers!
Long story short we moved here 5 months ago bc my husband got a job here. I'm now looking to go back to work and have secured a position *BUT* said position won't let me be sponsored on my husband's visa, they said the DIFC requires I have my own visa.
In order for me to get my own visa they want various docs attested by the UAE Embassy in London - and apparently it cannot be done in the UAE even though I have the docs (unattested) with me and have no plans to return to the UK at present. Is this true? That there is no procedure that can be undertaken from here?
Also, I've heard that I can hire an agent here who will do the whole process back in the UK. Has anyone used an agent, or know of one that is good to use?
I'm in deep dodo as I can't start work until this has all be done, and I have just found out the docs need to go to the FCO first... so who knows how long this is all going to take!
Thanks LOTS and LOTS in advance!!
