I hope you waved at my husband - the only one in a WWII Ford Jeep :)

And once the parade finished they all sped off like lunatics up Umm Sequim street. I rally just don't see the point of it.

We had a great view at Madinat Junction. Yes, there were a few breaks in the parade but that was to be expected given that the roads were not closed. Spectacular. Different to last year's parade where the U-turn at Madinat was jammed and the cars sat for ages just revving their engines (very exciting). This year most of the drivers took the opportunity to open up as they came through the junction, some even leaving a gap between the ones in front so they could floor it! There were quite a few very special cars in there, and many of the drivers were obviously delighted to be spotted - we waved and they waved back or flashed their lights or used their horns. I loved it. :win:

This specific event was done by the World Trade Centre. The Motor Festival however was organized by Dubai Festivals Establishment--they are the same ones who organize the Dubai Shopping Festival. Sorry I red thumbed you by mistake, meant to like your post. Thanks for the information.

I was so excited to go see it, unfortunately it did not live up to my expectations. The cars weren't all driving down at the same time..First came the police car fleet then the other cars which we regularly see cruising around. A lot of them were speeding by so you couldn't even see. It could've been so much nicer if it was better organized. It wasn't really a parade as much as it was watching nice cars drive by sporadically. Would love to know who organizes those events.
