Hi, ladies! Anyone completed adding the e-gate service in your Emirates ID card? How quick and/or easy was it? I renewed my ID card last month and this service was still not available.

As you can't seem to use the ID card for anything else at the moment, it does beg the question why would that be any different, lol. Do let us know if you find out, I just renewed mine about two months ago and was certainly not asked if I wanted it combined with ID Card (which I don't have, but they didn't know that). :)

LOL, I like your "in theory", says it all. I do not have my ID card yet but DH has had his for a long time but his E-gate card is separate. :)

Haven't heard of doing it that way. Are the e-gate machines set up for it? :) Yeah, should be possible (in theory). http://www.emiratesid.ae/en/e-gate.aspx Am curious about it too! Would love to hear how it has been to use it at the airport and if it has been properly introduced as a praxis. So that it would not come as a surprise to the personnel or anything... :cool: Also, if the Emirates ID service points are able to issue them while waiting.

I just went for e-gate the other day, it is the service road after Metroplex Cinema (Metropolitan) on SZ Rd driving into Dubai. 2 buildings before the gas station. Btw it is also possible to get e-gate card without residence visa, but once you get your residence visa you need to get a new egate card so u would pay the lot again.

It's moved to Knowledge Village now (gone from Media City!), I think it might be in Building 13 but I many be wrong, lots of parking on the sandy area behind too!

I think you will only need your passport with vaild residence visa. They usually take the photograph for you as they process everything. You can get it done at Dnata on SZR or in the airport. There are probably other places too (I get mine done in Jebel Ali Free Zone) but I think Dnata would be the closest for you.
