Does anyone by any chance know when Lloyds TSB will issue their holiday timings for Eid (safa park). I got an email from DIFC saying they are shut for the whole week - from Sunday to Thursday. We are a company in DIFC but its up to my boss how long we have off - I doubt it would be the whole week unfortunately! me too..and my boss decided following Central Bank:( Hope EID falls Tues and not Wednes so will have 3 days:) We have always followed DIFC up until this holiday but 9 day weekend is apparently too long:-/

Still not heard from my company although they were supposed to pay us yesterday(24th) so it gave everyone time to buy Eide presents if applicable but didn't, then said it would be today but it isn't! so who knows! Everyone else been paid ok?:(

i think, in all probability, the eid hols for the private sector will be tuesday and wednesday... if ur company is really nice and want to avoid last minute sickies they might let u have the thursday off too to club together with the weekend... but that is really upto individual companies... since ramadan started on 1st august... and, in the UAE, they only ever fast 29days... we're looking at eid being on 30th and 31st... let's all cross our fingers and hope all private firms declare tue/wed/thu/fri/sat holidays :) my tickets are already booked to turkey :)

TIA First day and second day of Shawwal is Eid al Fitr and the day after. So it depends on the moon, it'll either be 30th (Tues) and 31st (Wed) of August or August 31st (Wed) and Sept 1st (Thur) If I'm wrong, plz correct me.

Yes - unless your company is realy nice to you. for the first time in living memory - mine is being very nice! tues/weds/thurs. Think we are getting the whole week off ....... not been announced officially yet thou :) FIngers crossed Me toooo! We usually get 4 anyway but now it just means I get the whole week without using any holiday, super duper happy that my flights are booked and I get a whole week at home with my grandma :)
