Hello all,

I know this may be a question asked many times..but I I was getting a little desperate..I have tried foundations from many brands but nothing suits my skin..either my face looks too pale and cakey (even when trying before buying) and too dry or too oily..

if you could recommend me any particular range from the above brands as I know they are good for Indian/Pakistani skins (yellow base)

I have combination/dehydrated skin so looking for a moisturizing, natural finish (light to medium coverage so can be worn in the day) liquid foundation, without making my skin look too oily..

Can anyone recommend me one that can be worn both in the day and evening and does not look too fake.

I tried the mineral powder range as recommended but it ended up looking too matt on me and dehydrated and I generally prefer a liquid foundation.

Thank you so much

La Prairie foundation works best for me, not cheap but I use a bottle for almost a year, available in many shades..

Hello Ladies.. Thanks so so much for all your lovely help..I think Makeup Forever and Mac seem to be mentioned a lot here..I didnt know Makeup forever did a huge range and covered yellow tones for indian pakistani skin tones..i guess i will go and try that out as well in the stores and see if it looks nice ... thanks ladies I think MUFE is actually better suited to Asian skin tones than MAC. Their HD range of foundations are always highly rated and reviewed.

I second make up forever face and body foundation. It looks really natural with a great medium coverage.

Nadiya, I can't personally give any recommendations but I know a very good make-up artist who would be more than willing to give you some advice/suggestions. You can get in touch: http://hazelburfordmakeup.wordpress.com/

hi there!all those product you mentioned were great face foundations excep clinique (it gave me zits).ive tried using all of 'em what i like most is CHANEL,but then since im a hands on mom now i used MAC,since its not my money i used to buy my girly stuff ( if u know what i mean). to be honest with you and to advice you,its not about the foundations you use,in my understanding it is what you apply on your face before the face foundations i.e toners, moisturizers, sunblock creams etc. just my 2 cent tho. when i was working i will apply sunblock 10mins before the facefoundation,i used loreal liquid foundation then dub of Chanel foundation.

I used Shiseido and Bobby Brown liquid foundation, and few months a go bought one of the starter packages from Bare Minerals. Bobby Brown was good, and I had oily/combination skin, so got one of those matt foundations for oily skin, shade was chosen by their make up artist. Once I discovered Bare Minerals, I would not exchange it for anything else. I've been on 10 hour flights, landed in the morning, had a quick shower and barley any sleep, applied make up which is very light, and got million compliments from colleagues that I look refreshed. In the meantime, my skin changed to normal to dry thanks to pregnancy hormones, but Bare Minerals still works well. I don't find that it takes too much time for application in the morning, goes quite fast once you get the routine. i still use liquid foundations for some occasions, if I want more dramatic look or to use liquid blush, but for daily application I swear on Bare Minerals. They also have shades for different skin types, so you can find a darker shade as well.

For me the best daily use foundation is the Revlon Color Stay, i have an Oily-combination skin and this is amazing in my opinion...It lasts for a long time and my skin doesn't clog or get dry at all... Hope this is helpful to you

Thank you so much I use the Mac studio one ( it is a new one here not outside the UAE) If have dryish skin and dont like too heavy makeup. I was given a tester of it in the UK and never looked back. I wasnt able to use any other MAC foundation as it was too heavy. Make up forever and Illamasque is good too. I have very red cheeks so this helps cover them without it being caked

Have to second that. Tried Dior, Chanel, Lancome, Clarins, but I keep coming back to Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation...Barely there with a lovely sheen....:)

Love Bare Minerals but the only problem for me is that it takes so long to go through the application routine. It just doesn't work for me as I barely make it from bed to office on time as it is :) I recently read lots of great reviews from make up artists on Youtube etc. about Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation. Was a bit sceptical as I've always found bases from cheaper brands to be odd colours, too pink etc. and very cakey. Anyway, bought a bottle to have a go and I LOVE the stuff. Gives the perfect glow - not shiney, not matte, just glowy. It also goes on very smoothly with no cakey/flakey patches. The colouring seems to be yellow based, although the shade I got looks like a mix of pink and yellow which is perfect for me. Highly recommend this - it's great and also cheap which is a bonus. Oh and it lasts on me all day even with smoke breaks out in the heat. Previously I was using Bobbi Brown (the new moisturiser/foundation most recently) but the problem for me was that it often was difficult to blend around the hairline, and I ended up with lots of flakey skin HTH

I'm not going to be too much help, but thought I'd post anyway! I use Bare Minerals Foundation, and I too find it too matt, if you don't use the mineral veil powder over the top. Just in case you decide to try mineral make up again, I'd make sure you buy the mineral veil, it gives you a really subtle sheen, and it lasts well. >>>>>>>>>>>>>. I was going to say exactly the same thing. Never looked back after ditching my mac liquid foundation and converted to Bare Minerals. I swear by it. Converted 9 ladies I know, already and counting. Love it when the guys say, wow, u have beautiful skin and you dont even wear that foundation rubbish that most women wear :D LOL!.

I use a Clinique tinted moisturiser, which is great during the day, even in this heat. Unfortunately I haven't had to buy any over here yet, so not sure it's available, but i do hope it is.

I use Bobbi Brown Concealer, which is really great, and my mum swears by the liquid foundation from Bobbi Brown too. So that's probably worth a try. I don't know how well it fares in the heat though.

I had the same problem and I found that makeup forever face and body foundation is a very good choice. Hydrating, light and has loads of shades to choose from
