Just been told by my regular saloon they will be charging me an additional aed 50 to have the gelish removed, bringing the grand total for a manicure to aed 235/-.

Anyone know of a reasonably priced saloon that offers quality for lesser?

Thanks all - will give Chi Nails a go. It's even closer to home as I live in DSO. The trip to jumeirah was always out of the way.

I go to The White Room and every time they try to charge me the removal of my gels to be replaced by gel again, but I insist that I had my nails done with them last time (which I have had done every time, and shown my loyalty card and previous bookings).. They soon take the charge off!

Just had mine redone at Chi Nail Spa, Motorcity - no charge for removal. Plus if I'm honest, the way their technicians apply it, it seems to last a lot longer than other places I've had it done. I second Chi Nails.... Absolutely lovely girls and the French Bio gel is great . They didn't charge me for taking gel off last time. ;)

I have great experience with Your Style beautysalon, Southridge, downtown. I do not know the price by heart though, and I have only done gelish once, so not sure whether they charge for removal, but call them to find out. I was very pleased the gelish was done perfectly and lasted up to 4 weeks!

Are they still charging for removal, if you have gelish put back on? I know it's usual to charge if you take it off, then have a standard manicure. But to charge for removal, when you're having it reapplied is a bit much. Yes the salon I use have now applied this charge even if you are having gel put back on which is why I think its too expensive. I don't mind paying if I am not having the same re-applied.

I wonder if this is going to become a common practice in most salons as I was also surprised a few weeks ago when my regular salon announced the same? It is much cheaper to buy the gel removal solution and do it yourself but that's not always possible for me and I consider having my nails done a treat so don't want to do half of it myself at home.

Jumeirah park pavillion has three nail salons. Sasha is the least glamourous salon but the technicians are excellent and they are very reasonably priced. You get a genuine welcome and there is a mixed bag of nationalities which is great if you like a good natter whilst having your hair and nails done. If you go on a Sunday or a Tuesday, you can expect a discount on your final bill if over AED 200. And blonde ladies, you can have a PROPER root colour for AED 175. I have selfishly been keeping this a secret since last September, but I cannot believe how much some of you are being ripped off. I will not go anywhere else now, especially after so many disasters elsewhere.

I ditched mine for the same reason. I have been going to The Cure in Media City for several months now, they do not charge for gelish removal and are very good with manicure/pedicures. Bargain!! ;)
