Mine blew up last night (and good thing i was holding them away from my head at the time or i'd be bald this morning :\: ) but they were 10 yrs old so had a good life - where's the best place to buy them now to ensure they are not fake?

Can you shop & ship them from US/UK or is it just the same price to buy them here?

Thanks!

Cloud 9s also have a two year guarantee which is an added bonus, my pair packed up after just one year and I had no trouble exchanging them.

Cloud nine I think were the original makers of the GHD. Looks like you can order them online from thier website http://www.cloudninehair.com/me/shop/ I think Pastels at Mercato also stock them.

I know you've already got some but for future reference or if you choose to return, use lookfantastic.com. They're listed as authorized distributors on the ghd and cloud 9 sites and deliver for free anywhere in the world. I got my ghds a month ago for 85 pounds with a heat mat and heat protector spray for free. Came with that hologram card to register online so know its original.

Same thing happened to me. I decided to go for Cloud 9 this time and I have to say they are superb! I love that the temperature can be controlled. I bought them at Salon ink. 795aed. I second that. However, the Cloud 9 has a much shorter life span than the GHD.

Hi I'm new to the forum and to Dubai! I've been looking for some GHD's after my friend said I could literally get everything out here... Well maybe not everything! I've searched high and low! After reading here about Sephora, I see that they sell them on their website but don't ship outside the US. I checked one of the small stores but they didn't sell them. Anyone know if Sephora definitely sell them in store out here? Maybe one at Dubai Mall? Thanks all!

I don't remember, but now on the US site they are $180 to $225, with free US delivery, so if you use S&S, it would be those charges only, probably 79 dhs or so. You could also check the UK sites to compare prices and shipping. (Click on the flag to change country websites.) Estke it was very scary I was using them but paused to do something so was holding them out and i could hear a noise but didn't pay too much attention to it but after a few seconds looked round and there were small flames coming out of the bottom of the handle :\: i screamed and dropped it and turned off at the mains. if they had been beside hair i would have been on fire :\: - i have been put off them but need them so what to do??! DH says it is the way i twist them all up so the wire and rubber had got thin :( edited by BettysHotpot on 11/11/2012

Eee! I have a very old GHD, about 10 years old. Still working fine but OP, when you say it blew up what exactly happened? The last thing I want is to burn off all my hair which I am trying to grow after cutting it short when I made an impulsive decision... edited by EstKe on 11/11/2012

I ordered mine directly to be sure...plus it helps if anything goes wrong. Mine was from the US and malfunctioned after a year or two. I called them for repair, but they were able to find my sales record and sent me a new one instead.
