How do I get final DEWA bill paid to get rent deposit back before I leave Dubai?

Hello ladies, my family and I are leaving Duabi next month and I have been told by my landlady to secure my rent deposit back she requires final DEWA bill verified and paid. Someone told me this takes a month to finalise? Does anyone know if this is the case or is there a quicker way of doing it. We are planning on vacating our appt 3 days before we leave. Any advice gratefully received.

I agree with starsouthern, but we only got back 500 of our deposit as the Dewa bills are always in arrears, so the other part of deposit was used up to pay the final bill. Strangely enough the last bill was higher than an other month and this didnt include the 100 in charges for cancelling. Same thing happened to me on my final bill I paid for half the month the same as the full previous month!

Request it online but for a date 2 days before you vacate as it takes to working days from the day you request it for it to be processed. You then go in person to DEWA and pay your final bill, get receipt and your deposit back.
