ellaar, Links & Walencia are in the middle block. Small-ish shops but their private showrooms are huge! I used to go to Greeneye but found their prices got very high and they were absolutely NOT prepared to haggle. That's all part of the fun!

Links is the best (next to Walencia)- always go there and have got some amazing bags. Not the cheapest, but the quality is superb. Their 'secret shop' is fantastic.

I have from Karama - a chanel, 3 Chloe, a prada and some mulberry purses. Got a mulberry bag from Michael (British Asian with East London accent, ca't remember the shop!) that I had to return. My CHanel and the Chloes are all good quality, the Prada is just OK. You should be able to get a mulberry for about 50GBP, shop around because quality varies. If she's in the UK tell her to check out BIBA at House of Fraser, they do lovely accessories and there's a sale on at the moment. Karen Millen also do good bags. Myself I love the Dooney and Bourke All Weather Leather bags from the 80s and 90s - I buy them on ebay and etsy - amazing quality and they last forever If it is the same Michael he is Iranian hehe and does not sound like an East Londoner at all ;-)

All the mid level shops do good quality bags that last a long time. I've had bags from Aldo's, Nine West, guess....they've lasted me very long.

Most recently I went down there and found a good shop, well their showroom was great, it is called Stilo block C shop 33. They had a good range. Is probably the best showroom I have seen, I actually prefer it to Green Eye. She will easily get one at that price. For you I worked in Debenhams management in the Uk for a number of years. The Jasper bags are great quality I have some that have lasted me ages! I can certainly vouch that in the UK Debs never marked up then took the prices down for sale. The only realigning of prices was done based on changes in costs/popularity of an item/competitive shop analysis etc. Radley bags are worth considering for you as they are gorgeous leather. You can pick these up often at outlets eg Bicester in England.

I like the place a few spots down from GreenEye, Walencia. I've had one of their bags for well over a year and it still looks great. They have the brand you mentioned as well - my friend prefers the same and has purchased 3 from there. She is very happy with them. The whole area had a bad raid a couple of months back.... not sure if they got their stock back.

My friend from the UK was here last week, she bought 4 Mulberry bags. 2 alexa were 450 dhs each and 2 older style satchel bags were 250each. You have to haggle...

For real bags for you, how about a good leather one from Debenhams? If she is from UK it is cheaper to buy them from Debenhams in the UK They are 30% more expensive to buy in Dubai as your friend to buy you one :-) I go back almost every summer but rarely have time to go proper shopping with price comparisons! Debs is on sale now. Is it still cheaper. To buy in the UK? I find the sales in Debenhams are full of outdated stock. They mark them up to mark the stuff down so it is rarely if ever cheaper. You can compare online with Debenhams in the UK

For real bags for you, how about a good leather one from Debenhams? That's what I have my heart set on :) Can you vouch for the quality for everyday use? I have a few from Jasper Conran and Julian McDonald, had them for years and they are still in mint condition. Open a shop and ship account and get them sent here. It would still work out cheaper than buying in Dubai :-)

Try Lanvins (I think that's how you spell it) in Karama. They've got a good selection of bags. For yourself, I've got a Nine West bag I bought from the store out here, used every day and it's fab :)

Please don't shoot me as this is not for me. A friend in the UK, wants a Mulberry that costs 700 quid on sale from their site. She has asked me to go and find it for her in Karama! She is not willing to pay more than a 150 quid but is concerned about the quality. She says it's ok if it doesn't last a lifetime but doesn't want it to fall apart in a year either! Any feedback? Now for me. I too want a new bag and want one that will last 2 years at least. Please give me some feedback on bags from naturaliser, nine west, debemhams and marks. There are so many other shops selling bags in Mirdif city centre, what about those? Don't want to spend more than 500dhs, I am just not a bag girl ;) My friend is not on expatwoman and I won't transfer the comments to her so please, just some feedback. I know all about how the bags are made and all else! I tried to convince her to buy a non branded leather bag but she has her heart set on this. So please keep the replies simple ;) Many thanks. For fakes Greeneye is the best in Karama I doubt it would cost anywhere near 150 quid
