I barely have any life insurance and need to do this ASAP.

Currently ENBD has given me a quote for Zurich - Futura.

Any comments? Zurich has some other life policies any comments on those?

I've just moved out here and Scottish Widows were quite happy to maintain my cover while I'm here up to 5 years. I still have an address in the UK where they are happy to send the statements etc.

@MP. Life insurance is not necessarily connected to residence. Some life insurance companies will allow you to keep paying your premiums even when you move abroad. It depends on the company T & Cs.Life insurance is regulated in the UK so using a broker/financial adviser in the UK may make more sense. at first Depending on how long the OP has, it could be easier to arrange a policy in the UK. That said, if there are pre-existing conditions, age issues, or the insurer requires theapplicant to go for a medical, it could take weeks to have a policy approved. If the OP is short on time, she can sort a life insurance policy with a reputable broker/financial adviser in Dubai. I stress the word reputable as there is light regulation in Dubai compared to the UK for eg.

Hi Blueberrypie - I think I'm correct in saying that one can only get life insurance where one is resident. If you are resident in the UK at the moment, it is definitely cheaper and better than doing it here. I can give you the contact info for someone who helped us if you want, so you can get the facts. edited by MerlePhil on 30/07/2011

i want to contact Bill mentioned below to get my husband sorted out for life insurance when he arrives in Dubai. He will be way too busy to do it himself and we don't arrive for a month or so after him. Has anyone got his email address or full name and company name? thanks..

Futura is a Whole of life Insurance Product offered by Zurich. They also offer a Term Insurance Product, the price and benefits of these products vary greatly. You first need to determine what type of Insurance and the amount of cover you require before you decide on which Insurer to use. There are many different Insurance companies available to you in the UAE. If you are going through a broker, please ensure that you are comfortable dealing with them as they will be your point of contact. If you would like more info let me know, as I am also a broker and I have helped many others on this forum previously. edited by sallyk on 19/07/2011

Spoke to my mate, she organised it all through Neil at Prosperity, his number is 04 454 2530, I might be giving him a call later too! Thanks for the thought!

Please do not use Zurich, they are useless, worst administrators in the world, I have had so much trouble with them. Try Friends Provident, that is who friends use and it seemed quite seamless.
