Hi - we used Saniservice and they were excellent. They told us landlord usually are not willing to pay but I would definitely try get him to pay or at least negotiate sharing the cost. MPlus do not have the capabilities to do this properly.
Hi ladies, revisiting an old thread here, I live in the views and since I moved in I noticed occasionally when we have the living area A/C turned on there is a horrible smell, its only occasionally though. I've had countless emaar and Mplus guys come out, they look in the ceiling of the bathroom and then say there is a gap (?) that they think is causing it but that it is "out of their hands" and that they cannot fix it. I don't understand - if they can see what is the issue why dont they fix it? When I call Mplus they just say it's out of their hands, I've repeatedly asked them to get a supervisor to call me but they never do. Its very frustrating. Is Saniserve the only answer and surely my landlord should pay?
I had the maintenance company chemical clean the whole unit at a cost of AED980 (luckily the Landlord paid) but one week later the small is starting to come back. The maintenance company say that they have done everything they can and it must be somewhere else in the building where the air is coming from that is causing the issue. I have bought an air filter because i need to sleep in the room but it's very frustrating and I am sure it's making feel sick. I guess I will have to contact the building maintenece and Emmar now.
Alison 4121, did it work for you?
My landlord sent this guy Marco from Gum Busters +971 56 7086308 not sure what he charged the landlord but our ACs used to breakdown every month until he came and serviced them. 6 months on and still no smells from the AC!
We had Epsco in this time last year to clean ours out - quite a bit cheaper than Saniservice. A year later - the a/c's are going on more now and there's no smell from any of them.
Our LL also paid for this to be done - I emailed him telling him of the mouldy smell and mentioned both DDs health and pointed out that the build-up was from previous tenants (we'd moved in in October and the a/c's had hardly been used) and he kindly agreed to pay!

I have Saniservice here right now! Takes all day - everything is covered in plastic and floors are a mess - although they will clear up afterwards. We have had a bad smell in one of the bedrooms (only when AC is on) for quite a long time and having just renewed our contract for another year decided to see if Saniservice can sort it out. Quite expensive at 4000 - 4 bed in AR - but am hoping it will be worth it. Happy to report back in a few weeks as to whether we get the smell back or not!
We've just had a quote from Churchill for 3000 dhs for a 4 bed in AR. Still waiting for Saniservice and Epsco to return our calls from a week ago so we can compare.
I will give Saniservice a call, i had read on here that they cost a lot of money and didn't really want to pay out that much as have just moved into my apartment but will see what they come back with, if they can fix the problem it might be worth it.
You can contact Saniservice. They did a brilliant job with my ACs - they sanitise them properly unlike the maintenance guys. They do cost a fortune but apparently they're the best guys for the job - call 800 SANI (7264) or 056 7990679
I have had the maintence company that my agent uses to my apartment three times as there was a strong musty smell coming from one of my air conditioning units. First they cleaned the filters, second time said there was fungus and cleaned it off the filter, third time they put anit fungal tablets in there but the smell is still there. Its not as strong but noticable and as i have bad sinus problems to start with I am too scared to sleep in that room. I live in the Lofts, i must not be the only one with this problem, should i get a different company in to try and do something else? There must be something they are missing.
