Dear All, I would like to do a Retreat where I can do some classes but have also free time to discover the area and relax at the pool/by the beach. My budget is a bit tight. Has anybody recommendations for a retreat or nice place in India, Sri Lanka or Nepal? I have done a lot of research already but would love to hear your recommendation. Thanks a lot

I went to Goa earlier in the year and spent 7 days of Yoga, and Ayurveda massages and treatments. Here is the link to the place: http://www.ayurvedagram.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ayurvedagram?fref=ts I loved it - I didn't go out of the area, cause all i wanted was to "chill out" and enjoy the quitness, calmness that the place offers. Dr. Manu and his staff were brilliant and all the massages and yoga classes offered by Guru Mohanty was great. (I loved the outdoor yoga sessions the most). I came back and felt totally refreshed, my chakras were aligned (and apparently it showed on my face too how relaxed, calm and refreshed I was). The food offered was all South Indian dishes - vegetarian. At first I didn't think I would like it seeing that I am not much of Indian cuisine lover, but it was totally different and I didn't miss eating meat at all! I would love to return to this place, and perhaps next time go for the detox option. Many European guests come there to detox earlier in the year. Note this place is 'not'a luxury hotel, it is actually registered as a hospital, but no way you felt you were in a hospital :) If you need more info, happy to help you - just email me to chiquitabanana29 at gmail.com

YES!...Tallala Retreat, Tangalle, Sri Lanka. I went by myself for 5 days in November 13. Bargain flights available, they arranged pick-up from Colombo. Yoga sessions available twice daily (7.30am & 4.30pm I think) if you want to do them, nice groups but no pressure. The total cost for the room + amazing buffet meals 3x day + 2 yoga sessions daily + a few massages was extremely good!! As it's a surfing & yoga retreat there's a great mix of people.... singles, couples, groups etc. All the staff & the yoga instructor were wonderful. There's a huge pool & lots of greenery, and a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and by the beach. I took a tuktuk to town for a wander round (alone) one day which was safe & fun. I hope to go back there again!! Only drawbacks - no AC, but lots of fans, and you will need insect repellent. edited by Britgirldubai on 09/06/2014

try yoga on a shoe string. I think they are doing one in Turkey in Eid. Hmm, now that is interesting.......do they provide the shoe strings or does one have to take ones own? umm - can we make them into a noose?
