Is there a public swimming pool in the international city Dubai residential district or anywhere close to the area? Our builiding does not have swimming pool facility! I am aware that Fitness First does have a good swimming pool to do laps but it's very far from home. I am trying to find one that will allow Kids to swim as well. I would appreciate if anyone can reccommend a place. I am willing to pay membership or entrance fee if there is. Thank you!!!

Thanks Guys! I wil try Mushrif park this weekend. Is that one close to Mirdiff? Do you know if theyve got Family pool for men and women as my husband will join as well? There are two pools, one for men and one for women. It would be worth calling them to see if there are timings when one of the pools becomes mixed. Their number is 04 288 3624. There is also an age limit (if you have a son) for boys to enter the women's pool, I believe it's 5 years old. Plus you need a swimming cap, which you can buy there. It all sounds a bit tedious, but I think it's partly why they have been able to keep a public pool well maintained. It's nothing fancy, but certainly does the job and doesn't cost an arm and a leg like some of the other public swimming facilities. Thanks!!! I've been there twice this week and loving it... I paid a family membership fee of Dhs 560 for the whole year! That's not bad right?! :) We usually come at night around 730pm - less people.. I feel great that I started my swimming workout and i'm planning to do it for at least an hour, 3 times a week. Thanks to all of you! mwah mwah mwah!

I have yet to go to the one at Mushrif park, but my husband takes our son there once in a while and says it is well maintained. Oh, and yes it is the one in Mirdif, go straight from the Airport Road continuing on Al Khawaneej Road and it will be on your right. edited by urban socialite on 23/04/2012

Mishrif Park has a swimming pool, but there are separate pools for men and women (the women's pool has a large pool and a kids pool). It's about ten dirhams to get in, and you have to wear a swimming cap. I haven't been in a couple of years, but it was clean and generally quite empty.

It's for adults only on the bypass rd, kids can go only if they are with a trainer/swimming coach.

Te Hamdan sports centre on the Bypass Road is easy to get to from you and I have been told they are open to public swimmers pay as you go. You need a drs note to say you are fit and well enough to swim I think though. Do a search on here there was a thread on it not too long ago
