I also did this as a teenager and my parents then played and beat me at my own game! They caught me in the act! Lol! I got such a shock I never tried again and also my dad had increased the security measures around my windows (alarm goes off if its opened wider than 15cms). http://www.crimepreventionproducts.co.uk/home-security/door-window-alarms/

Theres an awful lot of this going on at the moment. They tend to use taxis who don't care how old the kids are and if they should be out at that time of night. Recently some children as young as 13 were caught doing this. Its normally arranged by someone as a dare, and they will get teased at school if they don't go, not 'hard' enough. Somone finds an empty villa and will arrange the party to start really late, about 2am. Mum and dad think child safely tucked up in bed, but actually at a party miles away from home. Goodness knows how you stop it as its peer pressure and not all parents have the same standards, some think its quite funny. Hope it doesn't happen again, lots of love and hugs and 'what if .....' conversations I should think. Personally I am beginning to think that this is not a safe place for teenagers. edited by Wurzelgirl on 13/06/2014

Catch teen in action. Once caught, drag their behind in for an adult chat. Tell teen, if they want to be an adult and make such a grown up decision, it is time they take on all grown up decisions. Credit is not free. Phone bills do not pay themselves. Then sit and remind teen where they are. If teen is female, have them google the words RAPE and DUBAI. Go through the news articles. Have them google *** and DUBAI. Have them read the news articles. If a boy, have him google about the French boy, type FRENCH BOY RAPE DUBAI. Someone is transporting them around, this is not a town you can walk around in, and anyone transporting a teen who has snuck out of the house is a character I would not want my teen around. Life is fun here once you've got a license - lots to do - if the only thing this driver can think about doing is hanging out with teenagers, then this driver needs to drive away. Tell that to teen. Your "pal" is a loser, sneak out to be a loser with him/her. Do not be too invested in emotions with this, teen will manipulate you (not because you have an evil child, but that is what they do, teen years are when we learn to read and respond to people to get our own way - teen still loves you). Talk monotone, blunt. Let teen see how angry you are. How teens risking the security of the entire family with their actions. Teen gets caught doing something illegal, parents will be blamed, whole family will be deported. Teens Dubai life will come to an end. Families income will come to an end. Or just put security cameras in and tell teen that is what you've done. Next time they sneak out of the house, it is time to go back to boarding school.

I would suggest you shouldn't get harsh as it will only add towards his/her rebellious attitude. Make your child sit and talk to you. As a parent you need to politely make your child understand the repercussions of such careless behaviour, especially if the family is an expatriate. God forbid, anything harmful can happen to the child if he / she is alone, unattended, at late hours. There shouldn't be a communication gap between patents and children. Talk to them politely and make them understand the good & the bad. As teenagers, manage to give them their space, cause they need it at this stage. Just manage your child wisely, with love & affection :)

If I were sure of this, I would absolutely confront them, and immediately. Their safety is at risk.
