M&S would be worth trying. Personally though, I don't find it worth buying expensive tops for daytime wear as they get ruined so quickly by the sun, sweat and the water here. :)

Thank you all!! I'll definitely have a look in all these shops :) I usually only go to Bur Juman since it's very close to where I stay.... so miss out on the shops in other malls.

I don't know what is left but I bought quite a few in the last couple of weeks from American Eagle and Banana Republic. They are very comfortable, and decently priced if on sale.

Tchibo is also in Murdif and they have an outlet in the Dubai outlet mall on the top floor. Great store. Also in satwa.

I second the Woolworths! Been there yesterday and they seemed to have what you are looking for. M&S should have classic casuals too...

Have you looked in Lifestyle near Carrefour in MOE? There is a variety of branded outlets in there... You can often pick up some good quality stuff fairly cheap.... HTH ETA... Also try Woolworths. They tend to do more classic casual styles. edited by captainjacky on 14/07/2011

Thanks ladies!! amandashaks, Giordano used to be a favourite, but I haven't been there for quite some time as most of their tops are usually the same. Will have a look there and in H&M, new look. captainjacky, I had a look in BHS last week and liked some of their stuff, but most of the necklines were a bit too deep for me. Princess_I, I've never heard of Reiss, Hobbs..... will check them out. I just hope they're not too expensive! Any other shops I can check out?

All the shops that you have mentioned, IMO, are what i would call "one wear" shops - ie, clothes are cheap, bad quality and don't really last more than a couple of washes. If you want something that last longer and is of better quality try looking at shops suck as Reiss, Hobbs etc Yea... Like we can all afford to go to Reiss, Hobbs etc for a "casual daytime Tshirt"...lol

BHS always have a good selection of decent Tshirts...Both plain and a bit patterned. And they wear/wash well.

Giordano would have what you're looking for. Otherwise there's New Look & H&M..

I'm looking for t-shirts and casual tops (not plain, but with some design) - preferably with short sleeves. Most of the stuff in shops here are either sleeveless or with plunging necklines! Also don't want to buy anything that will shrink or stretch after the first wash. I've checked the usual Mango, Zara, Promod, etc.... and can't seem to find anything. Maybe I'm too picky! Would love to get your suggestions. Thanks!!
