Hi ladies, I keep hearing people ask about what nursery I'm going to put my 3 month old daughter in? Why haven't I signed her up yet? Is this something that I should be looking into now? I would like her to start with 1-2 days per week when she reaches 11-12 months. Any advise on good and affordable nurseries. The fees of those I've researched are crazy!

Thanks!

I just enrolled my 10 month old DD in Cooper Nursery, we were able to enroll the same day since it's new and not full, there are 8 other babies in her class. We are really happy with it, very clean and organized, staff is great and very helpful, no complaints! I have posted more in the Nurseries & Schools forum about it.

As the OP suggested even in the nursery fair few nurseries wouldn't tell the fees and wanted us to come and have a tour. the teachers there were very charming and we came home with loads of brochures for different nurseries. personally i feel that recommendation of other parents, budget, area all these matter the most. seeing on the website is no help at all.

My little guy goes to Blossoms Nursery in Umm Al Sheif. I enrolled him when he was 18 months just 3 days a week for 4 hours. Getting him to adjust was tough at first but the staff and his teacher really made an effort and he loves it now (he's now 2 1/2). He's come along so well and has learned so much, I couldn't be happier. I'll actually be kind of sad when he has to start big kids school.

Jupiter whereas the schools have their fees on their websites, Ive found the nurseries wont even tell you the fees over the phone! For some reason they want you to come in and do a tour then they give you the fees structure. I might be wrong but the average for 4 days for a short day 8-12:30 is about 8000-9500.

Is there a nursery comparison/price list that you know of - as they do on here for the schools? I've had a look but can't seem to find one. No idea about nursery fees, but am now slightly scared to find out!

Depends where you are in Dubai. Looking around Mirdif when I first came, I found that the three or four nurseries within 10-15 mins drive were vastly different. I chose Small Steps Nursery and have been really really happy with it, and have recently put our third child there after a great experience with the first two. I found it small and friendly, and although it is in a villa and the facilities are not slick and modern, it suited us perfectly. Some of my friends looked at it and were very unimpressed and put their kids in the newer, more expensive swanky one up the road. They were also very happy with their choice. I think the only way is to go and see the ones closest to where you live and go with your gut feel.

Both my DD's are at the blossom nursery and they are very happy. They have had a big change in staff but the transition seems to have been fine as both my girls enjoy their time there. The teachers and management are very approachable and they are quick to inform us about incidents and if the girls are sick.
