I just watched 'Happiest baby on the block' and I'm considering buying a swing that runs on batteries to soothe DD. I dont have the energy to sit with her and swing her myself!
My friend highly recommends the Mamas & Papas one, and I've seen some at Babyshop.
I wanted to know from other moms if it has it made a difference to your baby, and which ones you would recommend?

I have an amazing Fisher Price swing called the Zen which is like a modern and High end looking swing but had the traditional swing motion. This was a total life saver for me up until DD was about 5 months old. She was a fussy baby and this is the only place she'd happily hang out .... She also took all her naps in this which honestly was the only place she'd relax and fall asleep. I no longer need mine and would happily sell it whilst it is in perfect condition. If anyone is interested then let me know. i am also looking to buy one but is extremely confused. my ds is already 4 months old and is a high demand baby to some extent. i don't know whether he'll enjoy or not. he seems to get bored from everything in just a space of few days.can you mail me pic and price? mscfriends52 gmail probably too late for the swing, look into a jolly jumper or exersaucer, I'm not a huge fan of them because some parents leave their babies in them all day but in small doses they can buy you some time to be able to go to the toilet or cook something.

Hi, i have a swing for sale (link below). My DD used it from about 3-8 months on and off. it swings back and fourth and side to side. plays music and has a mobile. it was great to stick her in and get on with some housework. We bought it from the babyshop for around 600/650Dhs. it is in perfect condition so looking to sell it for 375Dhs. http://www.amazon.com/Bright-Starts-Ingenuity-Cradle-Swing/dp/B004G8QT16

IMHO, I think 4 months is a little late to buy one and it will be a waste of money because when he becomes more active and alert and starts wanting to sit up around 5 months then he won't want to be confined to a swing. This swing was by far and away my best and most used purchase from birth until around 5 months so I'd say it is much better for newborns. I'd be looking to get around 400 Dhs as it is in perfect condition and I don't even think this one is available here. You can google fisher price zen swing to see details and pics. ThAnks.

My boy had a fisher price swing with a big stand and a fish theme that we got second hand. I ha a section and managed to get him in it no problems. It was a fantastic piece of equipment and gave dh and I some much needed down time, plus DS loved it and would snooze happily. It ran off big batteries and we just bought some rechargeable ones which would last two or three dAys. Well worth the money. You can get them from toys r us too

Hi, I have a mamas and papas swing and my baby likes it. The quality is good but I don't like that it only runs on batteries. Other swings can just be plugged into the electrical outlet which is much more convenient. I also don't like that the swing is really low to the ground so it means a lot of bending to put baby in and take out (not nice after a csection). After I had bought mine I noticed Graco swings in baby shop that were high up;about waist height which is much better and I think some run on electricity instead of batteries.
