We also had to take Dewa bill and our pp's. Make sure you go before 1pm(said 2pm on their website but was closing up when we got there). We went to Al Wasl to get it done and they took DD's picture for us. Think it was around 150aed. They allocated us a clinic nowhere near us despite the Dewa bill but manged to get this changed with no hassle.

Sorry to hijack but I was hoping someone can tell me what the process is to access these clinics for the immunisations? Looked up the website but can't seem to find the information. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks a ton. Firstly, do you have a government health card? No anonDubai. She doesn't have a health card yet. Think my husband has his but I'm pretty sure it has expired - it's from back when you needed it to have a visa stamped. Baby has a passport with a visa stamped in it now. So can I be really troublesome and ask where we go from here? Take your DD's passport copy plus visa copy plus a picture to the Rashid Hospital health card section. This is done immediately. After you have the health card, come back on this thread and let me know and I'll guide you on the next step.

Can someone advise what is required to get the health card for a baby? Does she need a residency visa? Thanks Yes.

Sorry, to clarify, the immunisations definitely happen on schedule, it's just that every time I've been with both DS1 & DS2 I've had to wait at least 20-30mins over my appointment time. Not much of an issue when there was just one of them but it's a bit testing and difficult to keep a toddler occupied in a boring waiting room!

However, in my experience at both Umm Suquiem and Safa clinic is that there is always a wait for appointments. Would that mean that the immunizations don't always happen on schedule? In my experience, there is never a wait for appointments and the immunizations happen on schedule. I have gone to the Nad Al Hamar Clinic and the old Rashidiya one.

I have to agree with the fact that the best part of government clinics is that the immunisations are free as they do cost an arm and a leg to have done privately. However, in my experience at both Umm Suquiem and Safa clinic is that there is always a wait for appointments. You tend to get treated like a moron and the admin staff are not always the most pleasant. Having said that, all doctors and nurses that I have encountered have been very pleasant and professional.

The care at the government clinics is as good as, if not better than, the care at private hospitals. The biggest advantage of getting vaccinations at the government clinics is that they are free of charge for all residents under the age of 2.
