Hey ladies Good to read everyone's updates! Megs, hope the nausea goes away again soon; Kiran, hope you've managed to get a good massage by now and that your back pain has been sent packing (thank goodness it wasn't kidney stones!!) If you haven't been for one ye, Sensasia on the Palm do a fab pre-natal massage - would highly recommend it! Plumie - great to hear you're feeling so good - I hope you're sleeping better now! and Sami, just read your other thread. So sorry to hear you're going through such a rough patch at the mo, but hang in there - sending lots of love, hugs and positive thoughts to you and your beautiful bub! Im feeling a bit sorry for myself this week - have a cold and a really bad chesty cough, and all the more grumpy for not being able to take anything for it!! Doing well apart from that tho so shouldn't really complain! And was extremely happy to find out I won a Timeout competition for a spa package at Talise recently, so hubby and I are off for a day of pampering next week for his birthday. Cant wait!!! Whoop whoop!! :D Sourskittleash, I just saw your post on the other thread about ante-natal classes - I heard recently that Cecile has now moved to a clinic in Health Care City, but I dont know which one. I have a few friends who have used her for both ante-natal and post natal, and all seem to say she's amazing for the post-natal, but dont rate her as highly for the ante-natal stuff. Have also heard (but dont know how true it is) that you can only access her for post-natal now if you had your ante-natal package with her. Does anyone have any experience / knowledge of any of these things with her that you could share? Have suddenly realised I should really be looking into this, getting off my bum and getting something organised!! Sorry if my post isn't making a great deal of sense today - feeling a bit dazed and confused!!

Hi Everyone, This is my first time writing into the forum even though i have been reading the comments on and off, and they really help as this is going to be my first one and i am more nervous than anything else :) So first let me say congratulations to everyone, the pink team is getting bigger and you can add me to that just had my 21 week scan and it has been confirmed. Do you ladies have any recommendations on prenatal classes, I am looking at classes run by Cecile de Scally at DHCC and Health Bay Polyclinic in Jumeriah, but I am open to other options as well, any help is always welcome. Thanks.

Congrats on joining Team Pink sourskittleleash! Looks like July bubba's are all turning out to be little ladies ;) KiranB - how scary that must've been! Are you okay now? Rest, rest, rest as much as you can! Megs79 - DD was a section baby so fire away with any questions you may have! The nausea also seems to come and go with me, but way more bearable than in the 1st trimester! I am feeling good and sometimes have to pinch myself that I am pregnant?! I guess having a toddler to entertain is a huge distraction ;) Have the occasional back ache, but again - it's bearable! I can feel when I have over-did it, so just need to remind myself to take it easy the next day or two! Can't believe I have 16 more weeks to go!!! But first an exodus to the UK is on the cards and then when I am back - little Missy can make her appearance!

HI ladies, Hope everyone is well? How are all the scans and everyones general health? I've had a rough few days unfortunately, the worst back pains ever...only had max 3 hours sleep on Friday night, i couldn't move, sit stand sleep or even walk. I really tried to stretch it out but the pain was unbearable. Hubby was up massaging me but the moment he touched my back the pain hit me really hard. So I had my 21 week scan on Saturday and the nurse who was taking my scan saw how much pain I was in and thought it was UTI but said its best you go to emergency as I couldn't even get on or off the couch alone. Before I went, she went about the scan and everything was normal...baby is fine and confirmed it was definitely a little girl kicking around in there :) She showed us in 3D...has anyone else had that yet? It was the most amazing thing i've ever seen...her feature are staring to develop and it looks like she has alot of habits her daddy has already hehehe. Anyhow, emergency dept thought I had kidney stones, so they tucked me into bed, I was so scared...turned out it was tense muscles and all I need is a good massage and and rest. Panadols seem to do the trick for now. x

Hey Girls Have been off the radar for a long time :-) my mom-in-law is here so busy showing her around.. I finally met Dr. Elsa and she is the best :-) no wonder she is highly recommended.. at 20 weeks now so she is sending me for the anomoly scan next week.. booked at n9ne on tuesday.. saw my lil one this tuesday at Dr. Elsa.. gave us a full frontal view and kept moving it's hands.. but i couldn't feel a thing! waiting for 22 weeks to start feeling the kicks.. only damper in the whole thing was that she confirmed that I would have to go for c-section. I had a fibriod laproscopy done 2yrs ago but it was close to the uterus and the placenta has also gone and settled in the same place! so like the doc said it makes her life interesting but I have no choice but a c-section... so now gonna read up on that :) other updates.. the nausea is back... not as bad as before but the same evening uneasiness and drained out feeling :-) hope this passes soon.. maybe it is the showing around town and stress at work for the past 2 weeks. won't know which team my baby is in till birth... so I will be put myself in team yellow :-) catch up soon :-)

... so am off to search for a maternity support belt as it's not fun when i have to say "Mommy can't pick you up now" :( Hi Plumie, You can get those support belts at Life Pharmacy on Wasl Road, across 1st interchange, I have back problems and will probs be needing one soon too! Ladies, there is definitely pink dust in the air, my 20 week scan on Thursday showed a girl at first, and then the doc couldnt confirm, the umbilical cord was getting in the way grrrr! next time! edited by sourskittleash on 11/03/2012

Hey July Mumma's! Wonderful to read all the updates and also to see a few new members! Looks like July is going to be a very busy month (now we all know wheat everyone was doing 9 months ago LOL!!!) Going to be weird when we all meet up with our babies one day - going to be a room full of pink :D Saw Dr Elsa today! All's well, feeling heaps of kicks - looks like i am going to have one very busy Missy once she is born judging by all her movements and kicks! Some back ache already, but that is due to having a toddler who i am constantly running after and wants cuddles and to be picked up all the time! Dr says she probably senses something is going on with Mamma so am off to search for a maternity support belt as it's not fun when i have to say "Mommy can't pick you up now" :( So far the stats are...feel free to add in/update if i have left anyone out! [u'>Team Pink[/u'> Plumie LMAO-DXB KiranB Niggly pancakemum LJB2010 [u'>Team Blue[/u'> ??? Or did i miss a bubba out? And best of luck for all the upcoming 20 week scans! Very exciting moments :)

Still not having kicks :( Hi Niggly, I've heard that first-time moms feel them later, and also sometimes the placenta is in the front which prevents you from feeling them early on. As long as the scan showed the baby is okay :) Last visit my doc said it looked like a boy, but couldnt confirm, will hopefully find out tomorrow at my 20 week scan!

Still not having kicks :( Last time had them at 20 weeks and now almost 23 weeks and nothing still. Hoping them start soon! When I had my check-up a few days ago the doc said she is moving around fine; but I just can't feel it yet. Good luck with your scan.

I've heard really good things about Dr. Elsa! My insurance doesnt cover City Hospital else I would have def gone there! Is anyone taking birthing classes? I have heard of some like Cecile de Sally and the Infinity clinic, but havent started yet, I want all natural so hoping those will help! @KiranB my sister had her baby at American Hospital and had a great experience, she was with Dr. Rajalakshmi. 3 days left till my 20 week scan - the last few days before a scan really drag on eh?! edited by sourskittleash on 05/03/2012

hello other july mamas! I'm due July 25th insha'Allah, have our 20 week scan next week and will hopefully find out gender! I'm curious as to who your doctors are? I'm going to Dr Shiva at Medcare and found her to be pleasant so far, but have heard mixed reviews about her and the hospital! Lately I've started feeling baby kick (yay!) and been craving alot of meat which is unusual for me! Best of luck to all you lovely ladies :) Welcome to the group. I see Dr. Grace at City, a lot of the July girls are with Dr.Elsa at City.

How is everyone doing? I had the flu last week and was miserable for a whole week. Well recovered now but DH is infected thanks to my germs. I can feel the baby moving so much more now it feels great! One more month till the third trimester starts.

I had my 20 week scan yesterday. The sonographer checks all the organs / facial features for any abnormalities, takes measurments etc. The scan lasted for almost 45 mins. It is very detailed. Will let you know the *** as well if you like or if you don't already know what it is. It is good to let the sonographer know of any abnormalities that may run in the family. A hole in the heart runs on my DH's side of the family and our little boy had one and this one has one as well. I am pleased to say I am on Team Pink this time!!

Hi ladies :) How is everyone? I hope the 20 weeks scan goes smooth for everyone. Kiran welcome to the Pink Team! Wait until your husband holds that little girl and steals his heart forever:) Sourskittleash glad you joined the July group. Kicking in this stage is still pleasant and gives us a nice reassurance that bubba is ok. Had our scan on Saturday afternoon. Little stink had the legs crossed for 40 minutes. Luckily I saw the dr next day and a had another scan to give us the confirmation that is a little girl this time. I can finally believe it. Need to change blue for pink now... Keep us posted ladies!

Lovely to read everyone's updates! I am having my 20 week scan next week. This month has gone sooooo slow waiting for the date to come! Will be almost 22 weeks then. A hole in the heart runs in DH's family so for us, the 20 week scan is important so we can be prepared for the outcome. DH's niece and nephew were born with a hole in the heart and both spent a lot of time in Great Ormond Street hospital. Sadly his niece is always ill 21 years on. A hole in the heart was found in our last baby at the 20 week scan, but thankfully it was minimal and the doctor advised that it would most probably close by the time time the baby was born and it did. For me the scan is important so that if any major ops are needed one LO is born, we are mentally prepared for it and also the doctors are prepared for it.

Thank u plumie for your reply, j do agree there are always negative comments as well as positive! I guess what I wAs getting at is even if something might be a bit odd or not normAl scans are not 100% accurate and I also am sick of paying out of pocket for things which will not alter my decision on keeping my baby. I think, could be wrong, that some women might choose to abort if the scan may come out a bit negative. Which is why I thought the scan was made to begin with. I mean our grandmothers never had any of this stuff so I wonder is it just a new way t make money as well as " put our minds" at ease... I'm sorry I'm being skeptical it's just im sick of how everythjnf in Dubai has a charge... Pretty soon I think they r going to start charging for breathing in a mall!

Welcome to the July Mamma's Adooli :) If i may ask - what have you "read" about the anomaly scan not being healthy for baby? There will always be "pro camps" and "con camps" on anything. And i guess we will always find evidence to support which ever camp we are sitting in...IYKWIM? I'm just looking at my scan results and am very pleased to read... Heart action present Fetal movements visible Presentation breech Amniotic Fluid normal Cord: 3 vessels, insertion central Placenta normal Heart: 4 chamber view normal, vessels normal The following were visual and appear normal: [i'>Head, brain, face, neck and skin, chest, abdominal wall, gastro-intestinal tract, kidneys and bladder, extremeties, skeleton[/i'> Diagnosis: No obvious defect After enduring a 40min scan, having everything inch of the baby checked over, i am happy to say that i am so relieved to hear and see my baby is normal and healthy and there will be no surprises when she is born :) And now i can sit back and relax and enjoy my pregnancy! Hope you find the answers you are looking for x [b'>Congrats[/b'> on your news LJB2010!!! Sami - wonderful relief to have found a Dr that you are happy and comfortable with! Yes, it is a pity that Dr M does not deliver, but i guess that is the reason why she specializes - so that she can concentrate 100% on fertility and conception!

Hi ladies, just now joining the due July bandwagon am about 19 weeks w a boy Inshallah! Jw though have or will you all do this anomaly/ morphology scan?? Have read mixed reviews since it's a kong time to be putting baby through such a lengthy scan... And worried if scans aren't so healthy for baby after reading some diff web sites. Also apart from a,ready spending nearly 8000 dhs on package and a,l things not Included in my package at dr sulaiman habib I'm a but unhappy being there as everythj g seemed diff before I went and got all the wrong info from a woman I spoke to prior to my visit about pricing... Needless to say I'm done paying extras so are there morphology scans really necessary? Either way I will deliver the baby.... Thanks ladies just wonderinG if u know more than me about all of this
