Congratulations Gingercat!!! Hope all is going well there :) Saw Dr yesterday and my c-section still booked for 22 nd March, we will be 38 +3, so happy we making it past the 36 week mark not like with my DD last time :) He is breech but very comfy in their apparently - mom not so much lol I am a bit confused as to what to do on the day - I was thinking of sending DD to school as normal (she is almost 5) and getting a friend to fetch her and then DH can get her after (C-section time is 8am) so we are all almost settled in by the time she arrives. My mom will be here to help and reckon she will be at the hospital from early and most of the day, so wondering if I mustn't rather include my DD and keep her off school and she can be in the hospital for when I just come out and meet her new brother straight away! Very confusing - don't know what to do!! Oh AussiePup :( SOrry to hear your news, not long to go, try hang in there x edited by Pingu on 09/03/2012 Thx, it's rather uncomfortable but that's just the norm for this entire pregnancy I'm afraid. Yes not long to go now. Might be in hospital around the same time as you pingu. As for your dd, I think keep her routine of going to school normal as can be. Perhaps explain to her that when she gets picked up after school she will get to meet her new brother. It may give her something exciting to talk about during the day but also then she isn't kept at the hospital seeing mummy bing wheeled off and potentially getting upset. What time is school out for her? If it's 2ish then could DH pick her up and bring her to you as bubs would be well out and you would have had time together etc before getting her? All the best for the 22nd pingu.

Yay! Huge congratulations gingercat! So happy for you! Welcome to the world baby girl :) My situation has taken an unexpected turn. Went to my OB this week thinking things were kicking off and turns out my little miss has popped out of the pelvis and has turned back to back :( So, if I still want to try for a natural birth I can, but there a lots of risks with the baby in this position and at the moment I have a 50% chance of ending up with an emergency c-section. So have decided to go for a planned section. Am booked in for Monday. Not my ideal, but safe for baby for sure. Ayda, good luck! Sounds like things are VERY close for you. I will be checking this board for updates!

OB wanted to break my water but DH and i decided to wait for things to happen naturally..got 2 days sick leave and am sitting at home trying not to get bored out of my mind! also, my OB says its full moon tomoz which apparently mean pregnant mumies more likely to break water! good luck everyone :)

Yes, coconell, I will be attempting VBAC this time..fingers crossed as last time they told me my pelvis was too small for my 4kg bubs :( My epidural failed as well so i had no pain relief whatsoever either...oh gaawdd..really don't want to remember it too much as it was beyond awful! Of course my bubs was worth it but my goodness the **** we women go thru! I have my next appt on Wednesday and will have my kilimanjaro of a bump measured again..last week i was measuring 42 when i was actually 38 weeks - yikes! Wonder what this week will bring - not looking forward to the internal exam where it feels like my OB is shoving her entire fist up my VJJ! Plus, guess what, my OB is out of town all of this weekend...Lord help me!

I have 2 days to go until due date and have swelled up in a most unattractive manner :) On maternty leave now but actually quite bored as I am afraid to stray too far by myself and am also too tired and lazy to organise myself to go anywhere. Got serious cabin fever! Let's hope the next few days/weeks go quickly! xx I am SO bored, too!! I have been wondering if I am just being a little lazy or if there is more that I could be doing to entertain myself? I also have a toddler and each day is such an effort... It's nice to hear similar experiences--sometimes I think I could be more productive but I honestly can't be asked... Congratulations to TanyaR--your post made me feel all warm and fuzzy and so excited to meet my own little one (which is nice because the past few days have been focused mostly on just getting by!) Best of luck for a happy and healthy delivery, Ayten! 39+ weeks here and counting. Finally picked a hospital two days ago, so I am in a much calmer state of mind (although that state is still a bit like jello...) Ayda, you mentioned you were hoping for a VBAc--me, too! How is that plan going for you? It's a bit of "wait and see", isn't it?

Ayda247 - so pleased all the scan results came back okay! Hope everyone is doing well! My news, is that yesterday morning at 4.01am my little DD joined our family. She looks exactly like her big brother did when he was born, and had meconium in the waters so had to have her little tummy pumped once she was delivered, but otherwise she is great. It was a very short labour - less than 3 hours. All went very well, the hospital have been fantastic. 2 year old DS seems quite taken with his little sister, giving her lots of kisses and say pointing and saying 'awww cute' all the time. Can't wait to hear how everyone else is doing!

Insurance has just come back approving the scan - thank God! What a roller-coaster...hope all is well - please say a prayer for me. hugs all round! Excellent, I am pleased they have seen sense! I can't believe some of the things they refuse which they claim are not 'necessary' (immunisations being a great example!!) All the very best of luck, I am sure you and bubs will be fine. Keep us posted!

Oh wow ladies, sooooo exciting!! Wishing everyone the best for your births no matter how they happen! I'm just trying to squeeze in a pamper evening with some girlfriends before anything happens. DH has also politely asked DS2 to arrive somewhere between 8th and 28th of march as it works well within his work schedule... Ahhhh lol .... Men!

Loving the updates! Don't worry GC - baby will come in their good time. As I said below, mine was expected really early last time, so by the time he finally graced us with his presence at just over 36 weeks, I felt like he was way overdue! I think with your first baby there is so much anticipation you want the baby to come sooner rather than later - whereas I have been really pushing to try and make it to 40 weeks this time! Looks like three of us had our checkups this morning - Ayda, very exciting that you have started to dialate! Yes, I don't like the internal exams, but I am thankful that I have only had 2 this pregnancy, whereas last pregnancy when we had complications they were quite frequent....I can't believe you are measuring 42 weeks - goodness! I wish my baby was measuring bigger! The Dr says I must just make small babies (I am a tall girl (and DH is built like a rugby player) so this is a bit weird for me!) she hasn't put on any weight for 3 weeks - very frustrating. Redleaf - how funny she couldn't find your cervix, but great that the baby is travelling south! My appointment was very stressful this morning (they did foetal heart rate and movement monitoring today) - and we had a few problems, but it seemed to be okay in the end. Found out I am in "pre-labour" I guess you call it, I am having contractions, she is fully fixed, and I have dialated a few cm's - but I can't feel anything too much. The Dr seemed to think she might come out sooner rather than later (given this is number 2) .. but who knows - could be waiting for a week or so like this! I was quite explicit that I really wasn't keen on her coming today (being a leap year) so the Dr was saying, I promise I haven't done anything during the exam, if she comes today, it isn't my fault! So I am guessing she is thinking she is very close! It is very exciting, but I have to say I will be very happy to not be getting morning sickness anymore! I did discover today I have obviously had a very blonde moment during one of the earlier consultations ... I had a discussion with the Dr (before my exam) she was asking how far passed my due date of the 8th I wanted to go before I was induced if I get there .. I said you mean my due date the 3rd .. erm no the 8th .. hilarious - we had discussed my due date in quite a bit of detail during two consultations, and clearly I decided it was the 3rd, and it isn't - not that it matters at this point, and there is only a few days difference.. just clearly I was too excited and not paying much attention! Anyway, enough of my going on and on! Keep the updates coming ladies!!
