Hi CitronKB, I'm in the same boat as you so researched it all lol. City has the DU Wifi so you can either buy the DU wifi cards (which I have done, all ready to use - you register and put in a pin every time you want to use its about 50aed for 10 hours or something) or if you have a DU phone you can use that number and it will be charged to your account. Hope this makes sense, just let me know if not!

Ladies can I just ask what do you use to post on forum/access internet from City Hospital? I mean is there a free wifi there so I can use my laptop? I dont have a BB of Iphone and would like to use internet while in CH so any advice appreciated. Thanks Congrats AussiePup! edited by CitronKB on 19/03/2012

Cuddling my little man as I type... He's so cuddly and its lovely to experience him with us instead of being whisked off to nicu like his big bro was. Weighing in at 3.5kgs and 56cm he has such a chubby little face. He has loads of dark hair opposite to DS1. My midwife Donne was just beautiful and Dr Elsa awesome. I opted for an epi this time and phew!!! I got in just in time lol. Dr Elsa was in about 20 mins after I had it and it was almost time to start pushing. 15 mins approx for pushing. Overall a beautiful experience and I can't wait for his big bro to meet him tomorrow (I miss my big little guy so much today). But this little one just as awesome and it feels so natural and perfect to have him out. Thx for the wishes ladies, all the best for those still hanging on. Xox

Oooh Congratulations Redleaf!!! That is fantastic news - and a lovely size! DD has put on about 500grams since she was born, so she is now about the same size as your little darlings birthweight!!! Good luck Pingu for Thursday - it feels like this month is flying by now! If you are worried about breastfeeding, make sure you ask as many questions as you can while you are still in hospital. Also there is the breastfeeding support group that you can go along to meetings for, and I as AussiePup suggests, seeing a lactation consultant for a quick check, can be really, really helpful. Issues you can struggle with, they can quickly deal with in a matter of minutes which makes life far less stressful for you and your baby. AussiePup - Even though DD was planned (and we had been trying for a while), we still had a few discussions where having another child all seemed quite surreal, and we weren't sure how the dynamic was going to work, and I also felt completely disorganised - erm, actually I still do! It has all worked out fine though, and now can't imagine what life was like without her!

awww lovely redleaf congratulations and wow, yes not so little girl tee hee hee although having said that I think hitting the 3.5kg and above mark is about "average" these days, babies and kids just seem to be getting bigger and taller! Congratulations again. Yep well my official due date is the 4th of April but I thought he'd arrive in March... still got 2 weeks of that left I suppose so gues we will see. I see Dr Elsa tomorrow. I don't know that he is down far enough for a sweep or if I'm even ready for it. I think tomorrow will be a wait and see and am thinking if we can do a sweep we might opt for Tuesday / Wednesday. I just really do not feel organised at all this time around. The crib isn't even together. DH said he'll do it when the baby arrives. LOL. We were talking in bed last night saying how surreal this all feels (it wasn't a planned pregnancy) and I think (even though we are delighted) the thought of 2 already has kind of got us in a bit of shock. Especially when we are enjoying DS1 so much right now. Ahh, I'm sure it will all be fine once things start happening (I say sipping on raspberry leaf tea and considering ordering a spicy curry). ;) Pingu - all the best for Thursday. I will post on here or I will get DubaiCat to post on here on my behalf if we are in at the same time. xox

Congratulations Ayda247 - hope all is going well!! Who's left to pop beside me and AussiePup - sorry I can't keep up anymore lol. Saw the anaethetist on Thursday had a quick char re allergies etc and all booked in for this Thursday, At the moment 10% nerves 90% complete "cannot wait get him out please"... I had the same re breastfeeding with my DD and am more determined this time round but pretty nervous as I am clueless when it comes to breastfeeding!! A get together sounds good to me TanyaR :) Aussipup - how are things looking? What has Dr E said or when are you seeing her? If we in at the same time will you put on EW then I know lol!

Congrats Ayda247! Great news. I am loving being a mum but seriouslly underestimated how difficult breastfeeding would be.....total respect for all bfeeding mums! Inever knew it would be so hard....my poor b##bies are in bits so using shields for a bit...they are my saviour...please tell me it gets easier!!! Ohhh do I hear you gc. First time or me was horrid! Will see how things go this time around. I had thrush on both sides for almost 14 weeks, it was constant until finally a lactation consultant worked out what it was at around 8 weeks then I got cream etc for it but still kept rearing its ugly burning head til about 14 week mark. I used shields too. Make sure you clean them and sterilize very very well! I found expressing way more less painful so also did that for quite some time until thrush had gone. So yes whilst it might be nasty and hard at times it can get easier :) hang in there! Seek help with lactation consultant if you need. Apparently dr Delphine in motor city comes highly recommended.

Inever knew it would be so hard....my poor b##bies are in bits so using shields for a bit...they are my saviour...please tell me it gets easier!!! Yes, breastfeeding is really tough! For my first baby I had sore breasts for probably a good two weeks, before it finally started to get more comfortable. I used to wince everytime he latched on - I actually ended up expressing exclusively from about 10 days (not for this reason) but I am not sure if this made them hurt for longer, or less! I never tried sheilds, I just made sure I was using nipple cream after every feed to try and ensure I didn't get any cracks. This time with DD, it has been far better, honestly I think it was 6 days before it was pretty comfortable, even though I did get a couple of cracks of few blisters on each as well - but I really was virtually pain free coming into week two. DD now has blisters on her lips poor we thing, although she doesn't seem phased! If the pain is unbearable, you could try taking some panadol to dilute the pain, and I would also suggest checking the latch your baby has, as this makes a difference, if they are not latching really well. Also you might want to check the body position is okay - you could google and get some pictures for a good attachment etc - but basically you want to ensure that she isn't just suck on the ni**le, but that she is taking a good mouthful and getting the surrounding area as well (if that makes sense). Not sure if that helps, but yes, it does get better for most - you are doing a fantastic job, and I am sure you will find it will start to come right in a few more days! Good luck - keep us posted!

Sorry ladies, haven't had much of a chance to visit over the last week or so - someone has been keeping me rather busy! Congratulations to our new Mummies Gingercat and Giggles - and Redleaf were you having your LO yesterday?? I hope everything went okay - no doubt you are all enjoying your babymoon! Ayda247 - how are you doing? I suspect you must have had your baby now if you were 4cms at your last appointment - how exciting! AussiePup - pleased your infection is clearing - you poor thing, you seem to have had a bit of a rough pregnancy. Things are okay here. DD is showing all the signs for suffering from reflux, which at day 11 is too early to officially diagnose, but I went to see Cecile yesterday and she agreed it looks likely. Poor wee darling - plus it means I have been holding her upright 24/7 - even while she is sleeping so she hasn't even slept in her moses basket yet! Anyway, if I use techniques I have read up about, and the things discussed with Cecile, she seems quite happy, so fingers crossed, I have caught it early, and it doesn't get any worse! Other than that DD is doing very well - gaining weight very quickly, and her big brother (2years) absolutely loves her. I have been getting him fully involved with her, so he has been helping change nappies, give her a bath, having her on his lap for cuddles - so far so good, no jealousy issues - but I know it will come! He even stops playing his favourite games to help change a poo nappy - hilarious! Given DD has been pretty much attached to me for the last 11 days, I do feel like I am neglecting DS a bit, but he isn't concerned at all at this point, it is only me missing my time with him - not vice versa. Anyway, can't wait to hear next updates, and perhaps (if anyone else is interested) we could organise to meet up once everyone's little babes have arrived and everyone is settled - just a thought!

Infection cleared I think. Just 1 more tablet tonight to go. I went to the osteo today and she thinks baby is snug and in for a longer ride than I am expecting. she says there is still quite a bit of room in my pelvic region. See what Dr says on Sunday but I suppose lots can change in a few days (here's hoping). is it mothers day here on Sunday 18th? Hope everyone else hanging on is going ok and all the new mummies doing well. How are newbie mummies coping with little sleep (for first timers or those who have been there before) DS 1 is waking at 6.10am and it is driving me mental. I like it closer to 7am thank you very much!!!

Loads happening on here :) Huge congratulations to Giggles and redleaf - have you had babs yet? We waiting to hear! I have decided to send DD to school that day and DH will bring her late afternoon to see me. Think she'll cope ok, I have told her that Mommy can't get up etc etc so reckon she'll be too excited with baby and the girfts we got her to worry too much! Yes had a c-section last time due to low amniotic fluid at 36 weeks and discovered I had Placenta Accreta so we have to do a c-section this time in case the placenta starts its nonsense again, plus he is still breech anyway! :( 37 weeks today and so sore! My tummy is so hard all the time I can barely breath and hi head is under my ribs - ouch!!!! Good luck everyone, cannot wait to hear all the news! x

Congratulations to gingercat and giggles and thinking of you today redleaf! AussiePup how are you feeling now? Hopefully the infection is all gone? Ayda247 any news? Ayten did the twins arrive safely? Twins are brilliant btw, my 2 are completely bonkers :-) Pingu just wanted to add re your daughter that she might be a bit freaked out by seeing you all tied up with tubes, wires, catheter etc and flat on your back after C-section as you won't be able to get up for 24 hours or so after the op. I've said to my DH that if I do end up having to have a CS that I don't want him to bring the kids in til the next day so that I can at least be sitting up and give them a cuddle. it really depends on how you think she'll cope with it - did you have a CS last time? As for me, I'm at 38+4 today and very much ready for little madam to come out! Dr reckons it will probably be this week but nothing seems to be happening and I'm scaring myself silly by watching birth videos on the net :-( Really hoping for a nice easy VBAC but getting a bit scared now. Bag has been packed and by the door for 3 weeks now...hurry up kiddo! All the best to the other March mummies, looking forward to hearing your birth announcements xxx

Hi! How is everyone going? Our gorgeous DS came into the world on Thursday 8th March!!! He's so delicious and his big sister loves doting on him. The labour was fantastic and my OB and midwife were incredible! Am happy to be home starting this amazing adventure with my awesome little family.
