I am wanting a personal trainer to help me loose weight and get fit after having a baby. I am not a member of a gym, so I want someone imaginative that can train me, in and around our home. Other than focusing on weight and fitness I need to focus on my core. I also have a problem with one of my wrists since DD was born.

I also on a limited budget ....I don't want to spend more than 250 a session - les if I can.
Many thanks in advance!

I have lost a lot of weight now and really need to tone up - really would like some recommendations for lady trainers who come to my home. If you are already training with someone, what are you paying and if you have booked a batch of sessions, how man and what price was it? Also what be interested to know how many times a week you exercise, for how long and what kind if exercises.

Tiki, am astounded your LO is only 14 and doing a marathon, are you sure? a marathon is over 42 km long and is not normally for children? All events this length are for over 18's. Sorry for getting off track but was curious?

Hi Eliz - I am set to start with the lovely celia....but too my embarressment I have realised my sons Tae kwon do instructors main business is personal training. I was talking to him about my wrist etc and he seemed very knowledgable. He is also very prompt and reliable when it comes to my sons appointments with him. His name is Adam and a genuinely nice guy. He runs a personal training business, and I have met one of his female trainers who is lovely as well. If you want his details let me know.

I am looking for a trainer for my husband who need him to come to our gym early evening/weekend. We had a great NZ guy who went back home - sadly for us. He needs someone reliable though and who understands how to work with an injury. Any specific recommendation other than those already here ? What is the going rate ?

I second Adam. He trains us since while now, as well as the kids, and we all love him. He can go from regular training (push ups, etc..), to thai box or mix martial art, or even team sports (with the kids) or marathon training (he settled a program for my 14yo who will do the marathon). He can help with setting up and following up a diet program, monitor your level energy and adapt your training and diversify enough so you don't get bored. He has a very good body knowledge and manage to train you even if you have something injured. He is the manager/owner of 1% Gym so all legal here. Ari, a good PT is much more than someone who comes to make you do some push ups.

I am with you on this Pomegranate. Lots of freelancers in Dubai are not set up legally, which means they are probably not insured to train people either.

Try Tom from PTX Dubai (which is a registered company in Dubai). All the personal trainers are ex-professional athletes, are very knowledgeable about both diet and excercise and will come to your home. They charge 250-300dhs depending on how many sessions are booked, but in my opinion the quality of service is worth it. 050 254 7431

Curious.....are these freelance PTs legal or are they operating under the radar? Could u put urself into trouble if caught as their client (like employing a illegal maid - sorry to use that comparison but it was just an example!)

Richard does a 1 hr keep first class in Springs 1 park at 8.30am on Sunday and Wed and at Arabian Ranches on Monday and Thurs. It's not quite boot camp (but last week it felt like it!) and he does a mix or cardio, core training, boxing, abs, etc. 0502488319. [email protected]. He also offers personal training and also is a mean sports therapist.

Im amused about the price! How long it will take you to see results – one-two months? With two-three sessions per week? Total AED 2700 per month for somebody to manage your push ups? Are you serious?

Adam will come to you, fab trainer. I trained with him during & after pregnancy as my core was very weak and very happy with the result. I also had terrible back pain after pregnancy which has gone since I train. Adam +971 556229125

If you want to get fit fast and enjoy the training then do Thai Boxing with Ash he charges AED 200 per hour, a few ladies from here have been training with him for the past two years, good luck :) 050 1454686 oops just saw you are having prob's with your wrist, I am unsure if he can do just kicks and other routine's with you.. edited by swarovski on 07/01/2011
