Definately ask for the discount, I guess, cause they are so expensive, that they need to sell them, Tempur showroom must be making a huge profit. But I am really looking forward to a goods nights sleep. Before I went to the pharmacy, went to homes r us, their mattress's are rubbish, despite costing 6000dhs.
10%?? Thats fantastic!! Which Supacare was it? If you don't mind me asking ;)
Also, did you go back to the Tempur showroom and ask if they would match the price?

It was in the Arabian Center, I did think about going back to Tempur but the lady in the pharmacy was so great, and said that my old mattress would be taken away for free, have written confirmation of that, i thought just do it.
Thats great! Definitely going there then.
I know it's a lot of money but it is so worth it!
We worked out the cost of sleeping on it per year and it worked out to be less then 300 pounds a year as they give a 10 year guarantee on the mattress. That's less then a quid a night and considering how much time of your life you spend in bed it's a bargain.

Side note...if you just buy the mattress itself, make sure you put it on a SOLID base (not slats with gaps in between). If your bed has the slats, get a piece of plywood or MDF from ACE and put on top.
Happy sleeping! You will love it :)
Hi, why do I need a solid base. TIA
Just use the line "I will buy it right now if you include removal." Sales people will jump at that phrase. The tempur store supplies to all the pharmacies so any price you get from them, the store will be able to match. All you have to do is ask :)

Have decided to go with Tempur, I just need a good nights sleep, but will check out the pharmacy tomorrow. Tempur are offering two free pillows, i think they cost about 800 each, so sounds like a good deal. I just need to make sure they take my old mattress for free, cause Gaby seemed to imply I would have to pay, and I am not paying if the new mattress is costing a fortune
I couldn't find a park there today! I checked with our local pharmacy and they quoted a price about 600 dhs less than what Gaby quoted over the phone. She said she *may* be able to take a further 5% off that too but wasn't sure. Just something to bear in mind if you decide to get one. Every dhs helps!
Which pharmacy is that? Tempur have a promotion on until the end of the month, 15% discount, but you have to buy the bed. So for the basic mattress and the frame, it is up to 13000dhs.
:)
SupaCare (sp?) at Arabian Centre. She wasn't sure about the extra 5% though.

Thanks for the replies, I went to tempur today and talked to Gaby, what a really helpful guy. The mattress was superb, felt like I was lying on air, now i just need to find 10 or 12000 AED. maybe an early Christmas present :)

Just to put my two cents in...;)
I used to manage a big mattress chain at home and we sold Tempur (and sleep on one now). They are 1000000% worth it! The biggest mistake people make, though, is getting an "off brand" one because it is much less expensive. The reason the knock off ones are so much less is because the quality of foam is not nearly as good. Tempur uses a patented process to create the foam which causes the density to be very high. The off brand ones use foam that will feel the same for a very short while, but (believe me) it will lose the feel over time and oxidise and "turn in to" a regular foam. Tempur also has a 20 year warranty.
Take it or leave it, but in my experience you end up having to keep buying replacement beds after the knock off beds lose their feel...so you end up spending the money anyways.
Also, Tempur is great for any back problems.....I have a pinched nerve in my shoulder and a bulging disk in my lower back..and am almost pain free because of the bed...
Anyways...stepping off the soap box :)
Lol preaching to the converted! you may or may not have seen my thread on memory foam mattress - I got well and truly suckered but am hoping to get my money back tomorrow. What I bought only had 5cm of memory foam not the 20cm they told me. Partly my fault for not knowing that even Tempur only have 9cm!! Its all about the quality of the remaining foam. After doing some research I have worked out that all other mattresses are locally made by 1 or 2 companies. The 4000dhs one I had almost decided on as a replacement is made by the same company as the cr@p one I bought! Now its just a matter of convincing DH that 9000 dhs is worth it!

Can i ask where the 4000 dhs mattress was? I am also looking for a good memory foam mattress and the Tempur ones start at 9000 (feel AMAZING though).
ETA: I looked at Homes R Us today too but their memory foam one is from Silent Night and only has 3 cm of memory foam.

P.S.
Tempur is great but expensive. But no harm if you see Gaby Malek as he is very knowledgeable about the Tempur products. And I just remember I think Home R Us has memory foam mattress which is not very expensive compare to Tempur.
Thanks, can you tell me where on al wasl it is
