Snickers what website did you renew your PO Box on? The last couple of days I have been on: www.emiratespost.com not working...according to 'Customer Services' they are 'updating' their system, hence not being able to renew on line! Thanks

Renewed PO Box today and just handed over passport and visa copy. ID card not a necessity.

By coincidence I renewed my po box today online. It does ask for your id number but it is not an essential field yet so I think you will be ok at the moment if you havent got it. You do however need your passport and visa information

am trying to renew boss's liquor licence at work - and apparently they will not renew without Emirates ID..... Wonder how many expats rush to get their ID cards now :)

They also request your passport copy and I'm sure they won't insist on both as they'll want you to renew and pay the fee.

I was asked for my ID card for the first time at the bank yesterday by 2 different people. Told them that I had not yet recieved it and showed them my driving licence instead.

I have used my ID card at the post office to collect registered items, so I know that they are familiar with them, and would not be surprised. My reasoning is that the Postal service in the UAE is part of the Federal Government, of which Dubai does not belong.

But will they still renew your PO Box if you don't have an ID card?? Now that the deadline has been extended I doubt whether this is essential.

On the post office box renewal form, they request your ID card number.
