When DH collected his he was told that you only had a week to collect them once you got the text and that they were then returned, destroyed and you had to start (and pay for) the whole process again I got the same information when i made the fingerprints.

we did ours in November when our visas were up for renewal - I collected mine and DD1s a couple of weeks ago and DD2s today. Photos are DEEEElightful! When DH collected his he was told that you only had a week to collect them once you got the text and that they were then returned, destroyed and you had to start (and pay for) the whole process again - was told differently in Barhsa PO but wouldn't like to chance it!

ha !! I wanted to upgrade and they said we need your emirates ID and they cant upgrade without it ! had it not been for that I wouldnt have bothered ! lost the offer as well the time it took to come through :\:

I needed mine to upgrade my Etisalat Package as they wont do it without an Emirates ID card !!!!!!!!!!!! edited by mushypeas on 16/01/2012 Funny because Etisalat WOULDN'T accept mine as ID to sign up for something.... stupid, isn't it? :)

We did ours as soon as our visas came through after Eid as well. Did you bother calling to check up on them after a month? ...or shall I just wait I called them up a week after the hand scans and they said that its under process and we will get a SMS from the courier. we then got an SMS a week later saying that the housemaids card is ready for collection. We collected hers and then I called about mine / husbands and sons and they just said its under process and they will send me an SMS ! I chased them once a week after that to be told the same thing !!!!! My husbnads was then ready and after that mine ( a week agao ) and now im chasing my sons !!!!!!! I needed mine to upgrade my Etisalat Package as they wont do it without an Emirates ID card !!!!!!!!!!!! <em>edited by mushypeas on 16/01/2012</em>

We applied just after Eid in November. My housemaid got hers within 2 weeks. My husband got his end of December. Mine came last week and my sons is still under process !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3-4 weeks. Mine was done at Rashidiya fingerprinting place and I had to pick it up from Karama post office. Absolute shambles! This was back in maybe, August though.

We went in on Jan 5 did all the paperwork. We had to go back on Jan 8 for my son (age 15) to be photographed and fingerprinted. Just got a text that his is ready. So far, no word on mine or my husbands. I don't know if it makes a difference that we had them done at Emirates hq.

I applied in mid October. Nothing. I called asking when I will get it and they told me the PRO made an error, and to send them back to the typing office to fix it. I called the PRO and asked them to fix it. PRO said they cannot help and to do it myself. I went to typing office. Typing office tell me they cannot modify my file until the emirates id is issued. I called the ID authority back and they told me they cannot issue the card until the typing office fixed the error. I go back to typing office, who tell me again they cannot modify the file until the card is issued. I complain. They tell me its the PRO's fault. I go back to PRO who says it is the typing offices fault. I call back ID authority and ask them what to do now. They said they would call me. I ask when. They tell me if I don't hear from them within a month then I should call back. I bang my head on a wall. Still waiting

I had to wait 8 weeks when I recently renewed mine. I assumed I'd been lost in the system until one day out of the blue I had a text telling me to collect it from the post office!
