Hi ladies!

Hubby and I are thinking of spending a couple of nights in Fujairah as part of our babymoon, but not too sure which hotel to go for. We've been looking at places like:Le Meridien Al Aqah beach resort; Miramar Al Aqah, Fujairah Rotana, Concorde Fujairah, and the Hilton Fujairah Resort. We want somewhere nice and relaxing, a little bit of a luxury feel and nice food.

Any feedback on any of these, or any others in a similar price range? We'd also been thinking of maybe trying Hatta Fort for a night or 2 but not so convinced by the pics on the website. Has anyone stayed there recently?

TIA! :) xx

Thanks for all the replies ladies! So its looking like Le Meridien and Miramar are the best contenders. A little put off by the sounds of the beach, but guess we could always just laze around the pool instead. We're going to be spending a further 3 nights in RAK at the Hilton resort (cant wait...I LOVE it there!! :) ) so trying to decide if its best to do Al Aqah, or spend a couple of days in the mountains somewhere like Hatta Fort or Khatt Springs....hmmm.....decisions decisions!! You can't compare le meridien and hatta fort - hatta is so tired- had a great lunch there last summer but it's tatty. Do le meridien and gt a wonderful pampering in their adorable spa.

We had a lovely stay last weekend at Le Meridien Aqah. Very good hotel and good pool! Once more though, we could not set a foot in the sea: tar and huge jellyfish.

We have always enjoyed the Al Aqah but have not been for a while. Miramar is also lovely although from what I recall the rooms were slightly smaller. Personally, am not a big Rotana fan and whilst I havent stayed at this one we did take a tour in case we fancied it next time and it was a no for us. Congratulations and enjoy your babymoon wherever you end up! :)

If you have ever stayed at Le Meridien al aqah then never try Rotana afterwards. We made that mistake. Rotana is 4star pretending to be 5 star. Le Meridien is just so much better room and food wise. We would like to try Miramar too sometime.

Hi we stayed at the Rotana last year and it was amazing. Had such a nice relaxing time. Food was lovely buffet style everyday and the pools were fab! I can highly recommend it. Have fun!

We've recently stayed at the Miramar and had a lovely stay. Nice beach (although busy) very nice pool area and excellent food - there's a particularly nice asian fusion restaurant there. I second Miramar, it's low rise Arabian style with lovely pool area. The restaurant you mention was absolutely the best Thai tasting menu we have ever had and they had a great selection of vino too. Would to there again in a flash. We did not enjoy our stay a the Meridian at all, the service was poor and they have a petting zoo which had no water for the animals in Summer despite us asking three times. In the end I broke into the zoo with some water bottles for the poor things.

I always say le meridien al aqah as we've never been disappointed and have always had superb service, food etc. we stayed for 1 night at the hilton and checked out the next day (a few years ago now so may well be different) - the staff and service ware excellent but the hotel was very tired so if you want a special time away avoid like the plague. If it was me planning a baby moon I'd book into the Ras al khaimah resort and spa in one of the beach villas with its own plunge pool/jaccuzi and have the chefs cook a special BBQ on the terrace. You can also stock up with bubbles from the wine store at the hotel before you leave! Heaven I love it there.

Stayed at Hatta Fort last December - lovely and quiet and had the feel of a game lodge in Africa. Yes, it looks a bit tired but the rooms were massive and the bathroom (with full bath and separate shower) were to die for. We stayed at Rotana Fujairah a couple of months ago and again, the rooms were well appointed with a great range of toiletries. The 'communal' buffet-style main restaurant leaves a lot to be desired - don't get me wrong, the food was hot, plentiful and with a huge selection but that style of dining doesn't float my boat. They do, however, have a separate beach bar which does great snacks and lunches and Waves is their a la carte restaurant with great fresh fish dishes. The beach, however, was fairly oily - it was really windy when we were there so perhaps oil had been kicked up by the sea. I highly recommend though going a bit further afield and driving the 3.5hrs to Khasab in Oman - Golden Tulip hotel OK but there are loads of places to eat nearby and the beaches and views from the cliffs are to die for. Take a Dhow cruise with dolphin spotting almost a guarantee. Go on a morning trip to get more changes to see them, although we did the pm trip and saw the same pod a couple of times.

We stayed in Radisson Blu Fujairah, 2 bedroom suite, lovely suite, pretty expensive though. White sand beach, there's kid club, nice bar, well order some drinks and was sent to wrong rooms :-). I heard Rotana Fujairah is nice too!
