Please, please, tell me that they are going to go back to their original size!?!?!

9 weeks post partum and still not able to wear my wedding ring (since i was 12 weeks pregnant :/: ) and i still can't wear any of my "normal" shoes yet! I'm slowly getting tired of Croc's and Birkenstock's and refuse to buy new shoes in a size bigger! And my shoe closet is a very expensive one - so it just [u]HAS[/u] to shrink back!

Please tell me there is hope :\:

haha Plumie - we are sounding rather similar, I am a massive shoe addict too - I got 2 x Louboutins for a pressie after DS was born .. love them - although I have barely worn them as I am not working yet, but I love to take them out and admire them every now and then... it is a bit of a joke with my friends as they are inside shoes as you can't replace the patent red leather soles once they are scuffed on hard surfaces... hehehe TanyaR - i have not built up the courage to open up my shoe closet yet! Just could not bear the thought of looking at all my beauties and not being able to wear them :( *SIGH**

I found my feet and hands went back to their normal size, but I am another one who felt the bones in my joints had grown and that is what I struggle to get my rings over. I now have very squeeky finger joints which dont really move slowly, they are kind of robotic if that makes sense? They are far worse in a morning when I wake up but improve as the day goes on. Anyone else had this problem?

I went up half a shoe size after my first baby and have never gone back. I was buying shoes the other day and made some comment to the saleswoman about my feet being smaller before I was pregnant. She looked me up and down and said 'Yes, maybe the rest of you was smaller as well?' I would have loved to have told her she was wrong but I'd have been lying!

My wedding ring goes as far as my knuckle! DH even took it to the jeweler to see if they can make it bigger, but unfortunately not :( I just miss wearing it, as it has been like forever since i have had it on - 8 months to be exact! 8 months Shellly?!?! :\: I have a timeline with the feet - DH has promised me Louboutins in April, so they MUST shrink back as i refuse to buy a size bigger! **Right, off to google "diets for feet" :D <em>edited by plumie on 08/02/2011</em>

Plumie, at first my shoes didn't fit after my pregnancy, but they do now, took about 2 months from memory as I was able to wear them in Oz. But what has changed is my tolerance for heels and my uncomfy shoes (which I have plenty of). The shoes I find myself buying now, even though they have a heel, I'm buying smaller heels and going more for comfort. I was lucky with my wedding rings as I wore them till around 37 weeks then they fit almost immediately post pregnancy, BUT the other ring on my other finger I had to stop wearing at about 16 weeks and I am too scared to try and put it on now as it still seems too snug. A friend of mine couldn't wear her shoes for about 8 months after pregnancy, but her shoes did eventually fit her again. Some change back, others don't. I reckon your feet and fingers will shrink back to what they were! Hang in there girl!

Even when all the water retention from the pre-eclampsia went, when I'd lost 20kgs in 8 weeks, my rings still wouldn't fit. And the weirdest thing was that it felt like they wouldn't fit over the bone, not that my finger was too puffy! Okay - define "[i'>ages[/i'>" DC??? A girl needs to have a timeline to get her through this "living in hope" phase! :D

**trying to pretend that i did not read TanyaR's reply :\:** I've google'd and google'd but 80% of my searches came back with the same answer - it probably won't shrink back!!! One lady even said that if you wear tighter shoes and squeeze your feet in them everyday, eventually they will get the "picture" and snap back to original size ;) So, if you see a lady in the malls with shoes which are too small for her and it looks like the life is being squeezed out of her feet - that will be me!!! :) Signed by: LIH (Living in Hope...my own little acronym too :D )

*stuffs hands under my butt to prevent myself from typing lies telling you 'it will all be okay....'* :( Okay.. joking aside.. DS is one year, my feet grew significantly - I was a 39-40 am now a 41-42 .. this has not changed. However, the puffiness in your feet and hands will go down (well mine did), so your rings will go back on... I put on 29kgs - so everything was, really, really puffy (hehehe) but I did lose the weight quite quickly, but I really didn't notice my feet getting comfy again until he was about 6-8 months old. Now, I have had this discussion before, and have heard horror stories that your feet get bigger still with each subsequent pregnancy. Seriously?!?!?! Shops don't stock my size as it is, if I have anymore pregnancies I shall be shoeless from that point on - apart from Manolo blahnik who make to order (teehee) like those peices of beauty would look any good on flippers my size anyway :( HTWTD (hope that wasn't to depressing... my own little new acronym) <em>edited by TanyaR on 08/02/2011</em>
