I'm ordering a few limited edition signed prints in the UK at the moment and having them shipped to Dubai. However the gallery is insisting on replacing the glass in the frame for perspex due to the risk of it breaking in transit. Does anyone know where I can get the perspex changed back to glass once I get the pictures to Dubai? (I can't have them shipped rolled in any case as they are mounted from the printers.)

Many thanks for advice.

It's called Al Warda Gallery (had to get the biz card from my purse!). Thanks so much!

In the 2 months we've been here, I've used them 3 different times! I would recommend them for sure.

There's a picture framing shop inside the Safestway building on the SZR, opposite the supermarket. U been there? Good? Big? Cheap? I got a quote from them for something once and they were very reasonable. The shop isnt huge but there seemed to be a lot of choice.

I am also looking to frame a HUUUUUGE map and am looking for a BRIGHT RED frame - I have found a few years ago when I was looking for a red frame that it was impossible to find. Anyone any ideas? Not too expensive, too! i had my map of the world (also enormous!) framed by desert frames in satwa. framed and mounted, approx 200 dh. i was very happy with that. you can pick any colour frame you like! fab, thanks. Where exactly are they located? Plant street in Satwa - about 100 yards from the big Al Maya supermarket.

I've used the shop next to Park n Shop on Al Wasl road a few times for framing and replacement glass, always good quality and service. if you have a few ask for the 'best' price as you might get a discount from what they originally quote you.

There's that eclectic hippie-looking shop by the food court at Lamcy Plaza -- the one that sells all the rocks, crystals, fairies and Chinese chintzy things. I know they do picture framing, but I don't remember prices.
