My hubby and I moved here from Australia in March this year and will be here for another 3.5yrs. I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy in May and am a full time stay at home mum. I often feel like a rat in a cage never seeing the outside world due to not having a licence and the weather being too dangerous for a newborn to be in for too long. I don't know anyone here so only talk to my baby all day until my hubby gets home from work. I often see other mums around with their friends or nannies and they look so happy, it makes me sad and jealous. I know it's up to me to go to morning teas etc (I live 5mins from Dubai Mall) but I am worried everyone will know each other already and I won't find anyone in my situation looking for a fun friend to hangout with. Does anyone feel the same? I'm 35yrs old :)

Thanks everyone, I would love to meet you all :). I leave for a holiday back to Aust in a week and am back on the 27th Dec (introducing our new baby boy to everyone) but would love to establish some friendships then. It's nice to know I'm not alone and I will have some new friends soon :):). I certainly can't wait to stock up on Gravox, Allens lollies, BBQ shapes and many other delicious things you can't buy here! I'll post on here when I'm back and we can exchange numbers xo

Hi Mjvdp9 !! I'm also an Aussie, 31 year old. I don't have a baby yet, but I have a bump, 6 months preggo. Dubai Mall is my local and I've been to a few bumps & babes coffee mornings. All the ladies are super friendly & welcoming. Come along on Monday. The host Vikki is also really nice and she will introduce you to everyone :) Would be great to meet you!

Moving to Dubai and having a newborn can be a lonely existence.
