Sure. Here ya go (modified from "Kittencal's Soft Tender Crescent Rolls" on www.food.com):
Heat together in saucepan until Crisco mostly melted:
1 cup milk plus 1 t vinegar
1/2 cup butter flavored Crisco
1 t salt
1/4 c sugar
Set aside until room temp.
Proof together:
1 T yeast
1/3 cup water
1 t sugar
Mix together:
3 cups flour (I use a mix of all purpose and chapati flours)
the milk mix
the yeast mix.
Knead for 10 min in a stand mixer. If needed, add up to 1 cup flour.
Let dough come to first rise (45 min- 1hr), then divide into 5 equal portions. Roll out each portion into circle, cut into 6-8 triangles, wrap a mini sausage up in each, starting from wide base of triangle. Place on lightly greased baking tray. Cover each tray with damp cloth and let rise again 25 min while oven preheats at 175C. Bake until the bottoms are golden, 15 min/ tray.
I've bought and served Al Khazan small hotdogs to guests. They are halal and taste good. They're with the other packaged deli meat (fresh refrigerated) in most supermarkets. The packaging includes golden cardboard. I wrap them in homemade dough and bake, so I don't know how well they would fit into the mini buns. I buy mini buns at Union Coop, Sevan brand.
Oh, the homemade dough would also be an idea...would you like to share your recipe for that?

Hehe, this gave me a wee chuckle :)
As to the actual question - I've seen the mini sausage buns in Choitrams. Not sure about sausages, but if you can't find any the right size I'd just halve the regular chicken franks or whatever you can find.
i thought (hoped) this thread would be about something else entirely
