Hi, I'm looking for a Jum/Um Suq nursery that offers good, clean, spacious facilities with catering for my daughter. Any recommendations? Must have outdoor space and not cook via the microwave!

Best I've seen so far in the area of Umm Suqeim is Little Woods. Class size is MAX (!!) 12 with one Teacher and one Assistent Teacher. They do serve a proper and well balanced food, which is fresh prepared everyday. The kids do eat in the kitchen and the small ones do even have a seperate sleeping room which I haven't found in any other nursery. Our son started to go there from 7 month on and was happy ever after! We get an individual report in his Diary incl. photos every day and also have the possibility to watch him via CCTV (great for Grandparents oversea by the way). The garden area is fabulous and also one of the kind! Most Nurserys I've seen don't even have a proper lawn and offer only rubber floor, sand or artifical lawn in the outside area. They even have a little "river" where they can play with mud and water toys, as well as a Kids Pool with Swimming Classes twice a week (all included in the fee). Besides that the cost for Spring/Wintercamp are also covered by the yearly Fee which I also have not found with any other nursery. So, from my point of view, definately a must see if you are looking for a good place for your child.

Herbie, the thing with their class size which took me ages to get my ahead around is that they have a maximum of 20 kids per class for example but those 20 kids do not go to nursery everyday on average DD had around 12 in her class. Not everyone sends their kids to nursery everyday. DD did 3 days a week. I only know 2 of her friends that went every day. My second option was Rising Star which is nearby. Loved the nursery but for me Blossom ticked all the boxes.

Thanks, it does look nice and it ticked a lot of boxes but I hated the size of the classes (i.e. no of kids). Searching for something a litle smaller I think..... any tips even without catering??

Have a look at Blossoms which is just off Al Wasl Road - DD went there for 2 years until she moved to FS1 in September. They offer breakfast, snack, lunch, afternoon snack. For me it was really useful. The menu is rotated every week. It tastes ok as well. Well I suppose she is used to my cooking.
