We are looking forward to get a Peugeot 207 CC by next month. And we have heard several goods and bads.. Can someone share their reviews?? We don't care for the back seats, as I'll be the only one driving.. All I need a fuel efficient car that can take me to Sharjah from Greens everyday for my class.. Any one who has used it kindly give some good advice.. Also any other options you can think of?

I think it's how people feel if they are safe... I've been here 4 yrs and I don't get flashed at to move out the way or cut up any more than when I drive my husbands 4x4 .....I think u find if the drivers want to cut u up or flash u they will no matter what car you drive. Maybe your not a confident driver of not driving properly yourself if you getting told to move out the way. I see it all the time people in there own world driving there 4x4 and small cars in the middle lanes getting in the way of others ,some people don't know that there are slow lanes to use. It's all about people feeling confident so they get a bigger car. But that's exactly what I'm saying was NOT my experience. I drive with the same capability and confidence no matter what vehicle I'm in, while taking into account the capabilities of the vehicle. Every bad experience I had on the Dubai/AD roads was in a small car. I agree some drivers, irrespective of vehicle, will bring upon themselves the wrath of the ignorant/selfish/dangerous/aggressive drivers on the roads. I just think that if you have halfway decent driving capabilities and you're in a big vehicle, you're less likely to be bullied (or bulldozed) by a big white Landcruiser.

I had one when I first came to Dubai as I always wanted one. Apart from the space being an issue even if you think it won't be, it didn't pick up speed fast enough (it sounded as if the gears were taking too long to change, if that makes sense) and it was way too small for Dubai roads. There's absolutely no respect for small cars here. After my second accident (both times knocked from behind) I decided to sell it after just 5 months :( I have since bought SUV's, couldn't be happier and feel like I "belong" on the road. I must say that was our experience too...and our 'small' car was not small! The first car I drove for 2 yrs was a massive, American 4WD. I never, once, not ever had some goose trying to intimidate me on the road. I'm a very cautious, confident, aware, defensive driver and my driving style did not change when we switched to a Volvo estate. From the very first day in that smaller car, I was constantly on alert, looking for bigger vehicles that were ALWAYS getting right up behind me, cutting me off, sometimes seeming to not even see me. I had numerous, frightening near misses on the roads in Dubai...every one of them in the 'smaller' car. The environmentalist in me likes to think I'd go for a 'small' car again, but no way. Until those roads are safe, I'd choose the biggest, strongest car I could afford. (Sorry planet.)

I had the 206cc (so pretty similar) 1.6 Automatic - and LOVED IT - I had it for 7 years, always felt safe (the safely features for a small car are impressive) full leather interior, and most optional extras as standard! Only reason I replaced it was due to having a baby - I would have kept it - massive boot space (when no roof) and you could turn off the airbags and had ISO FIX but my husband wanted to get us a bigger car - ended up with another Peugeot. I never had any problems with picking up speed - in fact most people commented on how nippy it was!

Lol vp I think what ever size car you drive here your not safe on the road. All the cars I see smashed up in accidents are the idiot drivers of minibuses and land cruisers.

are these cars safe on the roads here? they are so tiny, it would scare me (if I could fit inside it). Does anyone remember that young couple that had their car hit at the Al Manara Junction in Jumeirah a few years ago and it went up in flames? Wasn't that a 206? Always scared me since.

Don't buy a car they won't let you test dhttp://www.jacobscreek.ae/wines/sparklingrive!! If the owner is not comfortable with letting you give it a good test and taking it to a mechanic for a check over, don't even think about buying it! ;) Perhaps, in the meantime, you could go to the new car dealership and test drive a new one, assuming it will be a similar size/shape/comfort model as what you intend to buy. Good luck! You are right!!

Thank you all for the feedback!! LMAO-DXB: I really like it too.. DH says it looks plastic. Was that so?? I've never driven one. [b'>Greenish: I might buy from dubizzle etc.. and I am not sure if ppl are OK to let u test drive :( will try doing so.. I am on a bulky side so I guess I should certainly try it out before I buy.. [/b'> Pamya: I need a fuel efficient car that would also be speedy.. and i think all such cars are not very safe in Dubai. We have a Range Rover, but I tend to drive a lot and the fuel is killing us.. Don't buy a car they won't let you test drive!! Just be aware that being a European car the parts will be expensive for any major repairs. If you're looking for something efficient and cheap to run, I'd go with something Japanese.

if you are buying off dubizzle, consider taking it to the Rashidya workshop to check it over as those guys are fantastic and will tell you if there are any major faults. Major faults are very expensive with this car. As for the car, enjoy it, it is gorgeous!

More of a ''city'' car. I would not feel safe in Dubai with it.

All I can suggest is to have a few, long test drives. Make sure it's really comfortable for you to sit in. My husband had one as a hire car for a while. We both found the seats SO uncomfortable. I'm on the high side of average height and found the seats too small and narrow; my husband almost had to curl in on himself to sit in it. Other than that, it was a zippy, efficient little car. :D

Hi Rabiaah, I used to have a 207cc back home and loved it. :) I was soooo gutted when i had to sell it to move here. It was a nice, easy but fun drive. the back seats were a bit annoying but you could squeeze people in for short journeys, but if you're not bothered about the back seats then no probs. I dont really remember about fuel efficiency. Im guessing it must have been pretty reasonable otherwise I'd have certainly remembered if it was really bad, esp as petrol prices being so ridiculous back home. Mine was a manual and petrol. Wouldn't hesitate to get another one. HTH. :)
