Would absolutely love to get out more and if your offering to babysit on a school night give me a shout :) Turning on scrabble on your laptop while your Hubby is catching up with work and your paying bills online and answering emails is relaxing. Better than turning on TV and turning into a zombie. Plus how could I cheat without google ;) you don't need google - FB scrabble has a dictionary lol

Thats all very good for car journeys etc... but the good old fashioned method is extremely good for childrens maths skills!! ;)

My seven year old DD and I are addicted to scrabble for IPAD. No fiddly tiles, no dictionaries, no counting up scores and adding. I'm not sure I can go back to the traditional version. We even play scrabble on long car and plane journies. So convenient. And it helps her vocabulary!

Facebook scrabble is great. You can spread the game over a week or more if you want and play lots of people at the same time. Also chat with whoever your playing with. Great to spend a couple of hours catching up with friends/family on a weekend afternoon. Have been known to play online with Hubby who's sitting in the same room as me :)

Don't do Facebook BUT my current on-line addiction is Backgammon. My hubby will be happy if I move onto something else as the best version of online Backgammon is on his lap-top with Windows 7. The earlier versions are not worth bothering about.

Recently played and enjoyed my first ever game in the Club Lounge at Muscat Crowne Plaza. They had a very fancy board which swivelled (sp) round on some sort of rollers. Does any-one know where I could buy a board etc in Dubai maybe just a starter one in case the novelty wears off! Thanks Jo Beware! It's addictive :D If you have FB, you can play Scrabble there. It is quite convenient with electronic dictionary and shuffle feature, and you get to play with your friends and family or strangers online (except US & CA) while you are looking for the traditional board. Have fun!

Hamley's have the sticks to make the board swivel as well as the game. Or you can use a serving tray that turns. edited by MirdifIngrid on 01/02/2012
