the Ikea seats fit the bog-standard (sorry couldn't resist) toilets in Meadows villas if that helps anyone re sizes.
ETA: when I replaced ours they were 75AED each. They're also really good quality for what they are, not cheap flimsy plastic which is what we inherited (and stupidly lived with for a year before I got around to changing them!)

There's a number of shops in Satwa that have them -- all different qualities. The road that goes to the Iranian Hospital. You would have to go into a number of shops but have bought before. I'm thinking I found them more on the hospital end of the road as opposed to the Satwa road. But this was a few years ago.
Look for sanitary shops.
Apricot - did you have any luck finding the Al Quoz shop mentioned below? Can anyone else shed some light on suitable place to buy a loo seat (not Ikea/Dragonmart)?
Got in-laws arriving tomorrow and it could all go horribly wrong if I don't get this sorted this afternoon...
Thanks!

We found great toilet seats , a lot better quality then Ace, in al quoz. 90 dhs each. It's a street with loads of Jotun paints and bathroom shops.Lassie, could you pls be a little more specific? I'm interested in getting some stuff from this area.
Who are your maintence people Red? For the no hassle option, you could get them to replace for a fee? Emrill or whatever they call themselves now did so for us when we couldnt be bothered with Satwa etc.
It's a small compound we're going to and to be blunt, I can't even begin to ask them about toilet seats- none of the baths have any taps can you believe - just a bizarre lever attached to the shower - getting them to put in taps has been difficult enough so I'm happy just doing the bl00dy seats myself! lol!!

We move frequently and always change our toilet seats - it's kind of a pet peeve of both DH and me. If our ll does not agree we just pay ourselves. I found Ace cheaper than Ikea for their cheapest ones but the Ace quality was quite flimsy - I bought one and that was the feedback my contractor gave which I then saw myself too. Good point about measurements. Our guy got ours from Satwa - he said it is cheaper than DragonMart. They seem fine...
How about just attacking them with bleech and dettol? Lol I've moved too many times to worry about toilet seats, as long as you clean them properly it should be fine, just don't think too much about it.

Let me know how you go as I need to do some replacing of these myself!
Just saw these few: http://www.ikea.com/ae/en/search/?query=+Toilet+seat but good point on measurements as these do not look like they'll match ours, size wise.

No? I thought they looked adjustable? ****** - I can't bear the thought of not having new seats!!
Please don't forget the measure the distance between the holes on the actual toilet bowl to make sure that the brackets of the seat you buy will fit. Good luck!
ps. I think you will also be able to find them at Dragon Mart.
