Dupsee's advice to call the Consumer Protection Department turned out to be the only way to get Living Social's attention. Thanks for that. I can now say I totally recommend their hotline: 600 54 55 55 given the quick response. Now let's see if Living Social delivers on the full refund that has been promised within 14 business days.

I had an issue with a different place not honouring the package we paid for. I emailed Living Social and got a response a week later saying they are refunding the money back on my card, which is still not paid back

primus, Hotpot: thanks very much. I am sure it will get resolved one way or another. I must say though, SuzyDuzy - I totally disagree...when it comes to running a business, you have to make your customers happy. If a small business has to take a hit for dealing with a coupon site and not getting paid, it really shouldn't impact on customers. This is where Sifawy really screwed up - as a customer I really couldn't care less about their issues with Living Social.

You know it works both ways. I know of a new, small company who sold a bunch of vouchers via Living Social. LS took the money for the vouchers, but never transferred the money to the client. The company called and called LS, and were never paid. This was over a month ago already. Is this small, new start up supposed to work for free for 200 hours? I don't believe the company should have to honor a voucher that they have never received payment for. This is a case of bad luck for the consumer which really stinks, and although this may sound harsh, it is easier for one person to handle a loss, than a business to handle 100 losses - it could wipe them out. It's not fair for anyone.

We had serious issues as well. Again, the vendor refusing to honour the voucher because they had not been paid by Living social. I contacted Living social corporate office in the states and got my money back. Look up their number online. You can also write to them on: [email protected]. best of luck

Good to know Mollydxb....I am having major issues with mine being honoured for Sifawy Hotel near Muscat. They are telling me that they cannot honour them and are referring to some issue they are having with LivingSocial for payments. The interesting thing is that I am pretty sure they have to provide proof of the vouchers being encashed/redeemed prior to getting funds from LivingSocial. If you ask me, it's RUBBISH customer service. I don't usually go out of my way to complain about these kinds of things, but this is particularly annoying. A quote from my last email from them: "The reason we cannot accept vouchers from Living Social is that they have not been paid for. I do understand that you have already paid so it’s a loss for you." :\:

Vouchers I bought for Emirates Beach Boat Charter were fine to use. In fact, they extended the expiry date for me.

Has anyone had any issues with using LivingSocial vouchers? I have two for a hotel stay that are still valid, but upon trying to make a booking at the hotel, they said they are no longer accepting them! I have emailed LivingSocial, and haven't yet received a response.

The companies are legally bound to honour the vouchers, if there is any dispute they should contact the Consumer Protection Dept on 600 54 55 55
