Apparently dogs are no longer allowed in the park whether they are on a leash or not, there are new signs up and my husband was told off by security today. Does anyone know if there is a petition for this or who we can complain to as literally there is no where else to walk dogs on the Palm. Many thanks

Barbie doll, you havent seen it? I think it is one of the biggest parks and jogging tracks in Dubai. Its directly behind the Shoreline apartments LHS and Golden Mile apartments on the Palm.

Which Park are u all referring to. I live on a villa on one of the fronds and feel theres hardly any place to walk your pet. Ofcourse our dog is always on a leash and we always pick up after him. Pls advise which park this is as I would love to take him to a nice park. And yes if kids are allowed, so should pets be.

I agree with Marycatherine,Aberdeenquine and others... And the same problem was also in Arabian Ranches :people like dogs...but maids/boys are walking many of them!!! as usual because of few idiots [b'>who either refuse to pick up after their pet or have no control over them either on or off leash.[/b'> and even in the fronds...owners leave dogs off leash...and don't clean after them!!!:\:

I dont see why dogs arent allowed to share the park if the owners are responsible and are on a lead. Dogs enjoy walking too! Aberdeenquine I agree, just the other day I was running on the track (without dog) and 2 kids tried to run me down with their bikes then at one of the sandpits kids were throwing sand onto the running track which makes it very slippery. Unfortunately the parents were not around as the kids were being looked after by maids.

Dogs that are on a lead with responsible owners are not the problem :) it's the owners who let their dogs out with maids/helpers ....they don't clean up after the dogs: (......Actually the bigger problem at the park is the maids and kids......... They seem to be taking over the park and the mess they are leaving with all the litter include dirty nappies left lying around its disgusting :(.... I so wish there was a like button! There is so much rubbish, toys, rocks that are left over the running track. Last Friday night a family who had a party in the park and got up and left all their rubbish metres away from a bin. Who did they think was going to pick it up after they got in their cars and drove off. When walking our dog last week we had to ask a group of maids to pick up their rubbish they left in the park. They reluctantly picked up the plastic bottles and food wrappers after we asked multiple time. We walk the track and we do it responsibly, dog is close to the gardens never close to others using the track, he is on a tight leash and we pick up after him and other dogs as well. Just a few irresponsible people will ruin it for everyone.

The rule has been always there! Palm is not dog friendly and basically there's no place to walk them; dont know about the fronds but at least close to apartments. And I dont understand why dogs should come to this fantastic new jogging track - I love it for running/walking!

That's too bad if the decision stands. Such rules usually get put in place because of a very few idjits (and I'm sure you and your husband are not in that group) who either refuse to pick up after their pet or have no control over them either on or off leash. It's usually poorly behaved pet owners that ruin it for the responsible ones. Hope you find a solution.
