Zantac before feeding and Aptamil AR worked best for my daughters silent reflux. Size 3 teat of Tommee Tippee was perfect for the thick AR milk.
Hope you LO feels better!
My daughter had terrible reflux. We tried Gaviscon Infant but did not find that it made a signifcant improvement. My paediatrician prescribed Nexium which worked brilliantly. We saw Dr Rania at Infinity Clinic who is a bit of a reflux expert - make an appointment with her you won't regret it. Hang on in there - it will get better - I remember only too well how tough it can be :-)
We used Aptamil Comfort milk and Infant Gaviscon for my daughter when she had reflux.
We mixed the infant gaviscon with some water (the packet tells you how to do it) and put that in a separate bottle. Then we gave the gaviscon before giving the formula bottle.
I found it made the aptamil comfort too thick with the gaviscon actually in the bottle, and she kept falling asleep half way through a feed because it was too much effort to get the milk through the size 3 teat.
Hope that helps. xx
I haven't seen Aptimal AR in the shops, but I have heard that it an be difficult to find it at times. I am also using Dr Browns, so will need to find bigger teats.
Thank you all for the advice! xx
My DS was on Aptamil AR, Aptamil comfort didnt work for him, he couldn't keep it down, he was also on Dr. Brown's bottles teat size 3 as AR is a bit thick
Hiya
My DD1 was on aptimal comfort with gaviscon mixed in so can be done - just play with how much you add. It worked really well but we needed to move to the avent variflow teats as it was too thick for the normal ones.
She was originally on aptimal AR but that caused constipation.
Hope this helps
Ladies,
Baby has been crying all day and I'm at my wits end. To cut a long story short, I have had to switch from expressed milk to formula and am using Aptimal Comfort. I was mixing Gaviscon infant with my expressed milk, however I don't know if I can mix it in with the formula too, as it says it shouldn't be used with other thickening agents.
Has anyone had any experience with what to do with baby reflux and formula feeding??
xx tia
