Hi ladies! I've been in Dubai for a week, staying in Dubai Marina for now. I am struggling to find a supermarket that has decent enough parking that I can use, maybe I'm not looking very hard. Not keen on using the shops in the malls as parking there seems to be difficult! Tried Spinneys in Motor City yesterday and it was a nightmare I drove in circles for ages! Please give me your pearls of wisdom! We've found a villa in Arabian Ranches so near there would be even better as I can keep using it when we move! Thanks :)

There's parking lots behind the Motor City Spinney's & all the shops in that row. If you're driving on that side of the road, you'll see cars going right towards that lot. You'll usually find parking there or even outside/opposite the Carrefour there.

Hello. I use Waitrose in Jumeirah off Al Thanya street. Loads of spaces, not that busy as you can't see it from roadside. Prices are roughly the same as Spinney's - defo recommend.

Love Park n Shop at DIP. It's worth it to pay a little extra for good quality and quite shopping. Also the staff there are really helpful, even when I only have a couple of bags to carry one of the lads always insists on doing it for me. And as lovingthesun said, no parking issues :)

No one's mentioned Park'n'Shop... Like the name says...you park and you shop. I've always found it easy to find a big space and i hate parking!

I have to say, gotta love the generous helpful ladies on EW who share info that makes the difference between having a nightmare experience to a pleasant one in Dubai (not just talking about parking spaces either). Thumbs up to all of you ladies. BTW no idea on empty parking lots, it seems to be an oxymoron here.

Try Geant Supermarket at Ibn Batutta, easy parking quieter on weekdays, big supermarket and it opens at 9am so very convenient instead of driving from the Marina all the way to Motor City or Umm Sequiem. You can be at Ibn Batutta in 10 minutes.

The Waitrose on Al Thaniya is the best for parking. Turn right from Al Wasl and you're there.

@Buddha I actually found that car park but quickly left as I felt like I was somewhere I shouldn't be! @AnonDubai - I have no idea, so far I've found the Waitrose in Marina Mall, C4 in MoE and I've been buying bread/milk etc from the fuel station at Hessa Street turn off from SZR. I feel like I need a day just to drive around and see what I can find! @kemsmum I drove out to Silicon Oasis a few days ago but quickly got lost, and as I haven't yet changed my UK mobile contract for a UAE one I don't get internet outside and couldn't use the map, rookie error. Tomorrow's job - buy a paper map (or get a new phone lol) I pass the motor city entrance on the way to drop my daughter off at school, would I have to go aallll the way back up Hessa St to turn back and get back to that roundabout? edited by schm25 on 15/09/2014

Spinneys at Silicon Oasis has a large car park some of which is under shade. It has a pork room but can be expensive for a big shop. edited by kemsmum on 15/09/2014

Waitrose in Marina Mall is very easy, especially if you go to B2 and park just beside the African & Eastern. There is a travelator that takes you right up to the door of Waitrose. It's always pretty quiet. FFx

It's all about timing for me and not so much the size of the parking lot. Mornings right when the store opens or late night during weekdays. Never during the weekends but if I have to, Friday mornings. Also, if I go to the grocery store close to us, although it opens at 730, the best time to go is around 830am when the school run is over. Lots of parents park at the store lot when dropping their kids off.

I use Carrefour over in Motorcity a lot because of the good parking there. If you turn right at the motor karting there's a massive car park behind. It is outside unfortunately but what I tend to do is park on the road under the trees. Then any last bits they haven't got in there I'll go to the very bottom level of the car park next to Spinneys at Motor City.

If you drive past Spinneys in motor City and take the first left there is an overflow car park on your left which always has spaces. Geeps, maybe I shouldn't have posted this, lol. **Used to always have spaces.** Before Gems Motorpool opened ...

I understand your frustration. Is there an Aswaaq in your area? I like going there because it is usually not crowded, the employees are friendly, and the baggers are very helpful. The parking is also very good.

The supermarket in the Ranches is always well stocked and reasonably priced. The only time I find it difficult to park their is at prayer time on a Friday or when the kids finish school. I also use Spinneys at Motor City on weekends but I use the lower level parking which isn't too bad if you get there before lunhtime.
