Frankly speaking I live since 2 years in JLT and i hate it. The traffic is killing me and i even stop driving to work to avoid queuing in the evening. Few of my colleagues living in the neighbourhood and all are planning to leave JLT as soon as the rent contract is finished. Ok - enjoy taking a walk around the lakes but thats it. edited by Gege_DXB on 25/01/2012 i understand what u mean, but i'm in quite a good proximity to the metro station, so i believe my husband wont be using the car that often since he works in JAFZA. in fact we didn't buy a car yet nor extracted the driving license. but i want to ask u something, where r u intending to go to? dubai marina, the greens and the old town has the same exact problem. The traffic out of the Greens is not bad at all. I have lived there for 1 year and it takes me 20-25 minutes to get to and from WAFI every morning

hello crystal, i hope ur point abt the parking is true in my cluster since we don't have a parking spot in our contract... let's hope for the best :) We have just moved to JLT. Don't have a designated parking slot like we did in Marina but can assure you there is no problem parking at all. Think BIG lessons were learnt over parking in The Marina.... hello jacky... have u got charged for parking outside the tower in the cluster itself or something... i know it shldnt be a problem parking but if they r charging for it it wld be hideous...

hello crystal, i hope ur point abt the parking is true in my cluster since we don't have a parking spot in our contract... let's hope for the best :) Hi again, Munnus, do check with your landlord if he has an assigned parking space, or inquire with the Facilities Management Office in your building. However, even if he does not, there IS ample parking... If there is assigned parking for your apartment, do not agree to be charged extra in case you are being asked to do so. edited by crystalsindubai on 28/01/2012 no he doesnt have an assigned parking spot, but is it possible they wld charge me for parking outside???????????? that will be awful...

Hi munnus, I have lived in a very spacious apartment in the Lake View Tower (Cluster B) for 1 1/2 years now, and if I'm correct your tower is in Cluster C - so I can actually wave to you! I much prefer the generosity of space over here compared to the crowdedness (both in terms of space and people) of the Marina, and even though the general infrastructure is a bit "way behind" the metro bridge provides an easy connection. Wish you a good move to your new accommodation... hello Crystal... i hope we can gather when i move in and wave to each other more closely :D but what do u mean by the infrastructure is way behind the metro bridge? Oh dear, classical error of missing punctuation! should be reading: .... way behind; the metro bridge .... Other advantages of JLT over the Marina: - ample parking whereas the Marina is an absolute nightmare - generally more generous living area (large part of Marina apartments are small compared to JLT/JBR not considered)

As I will take the Exit after Dubai Marina Mall, its very easy for me to reach Al Majara. 2 of friends are living there since 4 years and advice me to go there as their are very happy. may god grant u his blessings and u find what u r looking for and comfort u... i still didn't get my final version of the contract signed coz there was debates and discussions abt some items in the contract but let's pray everything goes on smoothly :)

My husband is working in JAFZA too. The main reason to move to Green Lakes was the distance to the Metro station and it was at that time the only flat which was spacious and affortable for us. I looking forward to move to Al Majara/Dubai Marina. There is almost no traffic around, quiet, good location/building, close to Metro station, etc. Downtown would be the most horrible place to live in for me, to much traffic and everywhere tourist around the Dubai Mall. edited by Gege_DXB on 26/01/2012

Hi I live in JLT too but not Gold Crest. Hope you enjoy living here it has developed a lot since I arrived in 2009. hi :) i'm moving there in the 1st of feb. i believe it's a nice neighborhood but i believe D.marina's rents r falling so they r getting very competitive to JLT... what do u think the best tower in JLT is? Hi Apparently Alseef 2 and 3, Tamweel Tower, Medina Tower and Green lakes are the best ones. They are huge. HTH
