Hi all, I have just spoken to RAK bank and they said that you can have an account with them with only a debit card with no minimum salary. Will update when such account is open to let you know that is actually is possible!

Just FYI the min for ADCB is AED 5000. According to their website, there is no fee though. Again, I don't have this type of account, I won't be surprised if there are some fine prints with this. It is quite deceptive if there is a fee, as "free banking" has been their biggest promotion. Account Services [i'>ADCB Charges Monthly fees for non maintenance of minimum balance Free[/i'> As for "M" bank, I wouldn't do business with them even if they paid me :)

Try ADCB Free Banking. My understanding is no minimum balance and no fees. I don't have personal experience with this type of accounts, but it's worth finding out. 800-2030.

My colleagues were able to open accounts with Emirates NBD. Prior to that, they received their salaries through UAE Exchange.

Hi Ladies, I need to help some of my waiters open a bank account, but the minimum salary is 3000 and the required constant balance is 3000. Can anyone help? The salary that they are getting is 2,500 and the only issues is the boys as the girls do not face the same requirements. !!!!!! I dont know if this helps but when I cam e to the UAE I needed a bank account so the nice gentleman at the bank told me to open a savings account (which did not require a minimum) and once I got a job the company used to transfer my slary there. Dont know if this is still possible with all the new rules....

I opened a bank account for our receptionist, she too earns lower than 3000, and they need a constant balance of 3000 too. I simply paid that deposit myself (company cheque), and will deduct it over a year or two..
