Hi

Does Barracuda deliver to your home in Dubai?

If so, what is the cost?

Is there a minimum delivery cost?

What is their phone number (can't find it on Google)?

100 for delivery, no check of licence and no tax. Tend to get few free bottles too. Minimum charge is 1500.

I had a quick look at the Centaurus website and it looks good. Do they ask to see your licence on delivery or are they a bit like Barracuda in that respect? Also, do they add tax on at the till or (again) are they like Barracuda? Also, is there a delivery charge. Thanks.

Can anyone seriously imagine people doing this on a six lane highway? The only other cars on it on a Fri / Sat AM are coming from the same place anyway!

I am actually nervous,as a resident, to carry duty free back through Sharjah. I am nervous about the "bumpers." May be hyped up a bit, but license or not, I would worry about someone trying to hit me on purpose. The intentional 'bumpers' was hyped up a few years ago but there has not been any incidents in the last 3-4years that i've heard about here in Sharjah. Many of our friends don't have a licence and have no worries driving from RAK and home to Sharjah. What confuses me (still) is the law in UAE that consumption of alcohol is illegal but tolerated?

We found that living Up North has its advantages :) I am actually nervous,as a resident, to carry duty free back through Sharjah. I am nervous about the "bumpers." May be hyped up a bit, but license or not, I would worry about someone trying to hit me on purpose.

Me neither (not that I bring booze south any more), but I was always prepared that if I was stopped I'd probably be in the wrong. I searched back and this is what I was referring to in my previous post: 28/01/2010 [i'>16:32:54 • quote mishka13 Posts 43 Ok...so I rang sharjah police to clarify (06 563 1111)- The person I spoke said that driving through Sharjah with alcohol in the car WITH a Dubai alcohol licence is not allowed edited by mishka13 on 28/01/2010[/i'> I havent for a while either. Have had lots of friends and family here so i utilise them at the airport!

Someone else on here contacted Sharjah police who was told that a Dubai or AD licence would not cover them through Sharjah so it could be a bit of a grey area. I suppose one would have to ensure a driver had a licence and would be comfortable transporting alcohol through other Emirates. It is a chance we take i suppose. Fortunately i have never been stopped

Bear in mind that what you are asking a driver to do is illegal (assuming you live south of Sharjah). If he/she has an alcohol licence they can safely transport through Sharjah Chief of Police told me that :-)

Barracuda do not deliver. From memory, Centauraus required you to give a previous customer's email address before they would deliver. Centaurus has a website and i have ordered lots from them in the past. Spirits, wine, beer and they have a large selection

We were there at the weekend and it was busy, lots of people working out what they needed to buy as they are closed for Ramadan. The deli next door had some lovely stuff and some of it was discounted as well.

centaurus have a website and I thought their selection was pretty good although they are more expensive than Barracuda and one of the cases they delivered to me was off. I think its cheaper to go to Barracuda (takes about an hour to get there).

Just checked with Barracuda, they don't deliver. Rang Centurus yesterday, they just don't have a huge selection so would prefer to get a driver to go for me. Anyone know a reliable driver and if so, how much to go to Barra and back?
