buildings in the Marina to avoid?

We already live in the Marina but we are moving to a new apartment - currently looking for one and we have looked in loads of buildings - but I am just wondering whether there are any buildings which for one reason or another should be avoided? Because it would be typical that we love an apartment and then find out too late that the building is a bad one to be in.

I mean for things such as construction noise, drain problems, poor maintenance etc

Thanks!

Sorry to hijack the thread but does anyone know of any buildings in the Marina where you can rent an extra parking space as we only require a 1 bed but need to park to cars. Thanks DC Have friends in Trident Oceanic and they paid an extra 10,000 dhs for an extra parking space for a year. Thanks - that's one to add to the list of possibles then!

Hi, I live in Marina Wharf since Feb and I really like it. I got a very good deal for a 3 bedrooms with full marina view. I know that there are still 2 BRs available. If you avoid the side that faces the construction it would be nice. I live in a high floor and I have no issues with noise. The maintenance is decent and the facilities that were delivered (pool, gym, sauna) are also ok. The parking lot can be an issue depending on which floor you got your parking space, but in general is a good cost benefit. I've heard of people getting 2 BRs for 75-80K. I've seen almost everything during my search and this one was the one I liked the most in my budget.

I have also heard bad things about all the Marina Diamond buildings. We're in Al Majara which I think is great - good gym, walking distance to Marina Mall and the Metro, pool can be pretty crowded at weekends though.

Hello. Would def avoid Sulafa Tower, Marina Crown, Diamond and Manchester Tower. On the bright side, really like Ocean Heights, Torch Tower, Mag 218 and Zumurund. Good Luck

Trident Bayside is a lovely building, its our second year here, we love it. High end interiors, maintenance / service are very good. Pool and leisure areas are top notch too. Close to marina Metro, Spinneys afew mins walk.

The Diamond buildings, the owners don't seem to pay their maintenance fees so the maintenance suffers.

pollydxb...... what is the rent like? I noticed a 2 bedroom apartment in that building for 135k - it is more than we want to pay really so I am avoiding the building in case I fall in love with it and end up stretching the budget but this popped up as a 'featured property' on one of the websites so I noticed it. Whoaaaaaa... that is a really skyrocketing price !! Gold faucets? no? shame.

You could try looking at Marina Sail... Know you want to know buildings NOT to go for... But yep...Tis an older one but if you get one facing the marina... All good. And no probs with maintenence... Across the road from big supermarket... Metro 5 min walk.... adequate pool and spacious apartments. Thanks captainjacky - we looked in there a couple of years ago and liked it but ended up going for another one - I went in the other day and the security guard told me it was full, I found a couple of adverts but then the agents said they were no longer available! So I will keep an eye out for further adverts - thanks for the recommendation :) Not 100% sure... But don't think its full... Will ask the building manager tomorrow and update you... Post me your email if you like.. If not no probs i'll reply on here... CJ. x

We lived at Marina Sail for 12 months and I really liked it too. Avoid Manchester Tower at all costs. Fire Alarm goes off all hours of the day and night. I had a friend who had to get out of there.

Nope, but I would recommend Iris Blue, loved living in that building, but the rent got too expensive!

Avoid Cascades, half the year the pool is shadowed by Horizon Tower, same goes for Marina Residence. Horizon is a beast of a tower. Thanks Polly, good to know! Anyone want to warn me off any others?
