Considering some people bring on the kitchen sink (ggrrrrrr, Dubai airport staff, pick up your game!) then 2 neatly packed laptops will be no problem at all. Bear in mind if it's a ful llfight then they should go under the seat in front if in laptop bags, not in the hatrack. Have a good flight

my teen usually has a lappy and a netbook and i have my lappy and ipad but as long as your bag doesn't go over the hand limit why does it matter what you're carrying ?? the weight half kills me though lolol mind you, having said that we sit on the plane and watch women struggling on with a wheelie case, handbag and carrier bags full of duty free shopping ffs lol

so long as your hand luggage complies with the rules, I don't see why not. I have before (though not recently) without any difficulty (obviously doesn't actually mean it's legitimate, but don't remember ever seeing that you can't)
