Cards put on my window in the car parks. Anyone dealt with any of these guys and had a successful outcome? Or is dubizzle better?

I've sold a couple of cars to notes on the windscreen people. Probably got a couple of thousand less than if I'd done it privately but it was worth it not to deal with Dubizzle. Got an envelope stuffed with cash on both occasions, felt like a total gangster but it was all legit.

How do you make sure that the cash/cheque that you get from them is ok? I would ask for cash to be honest. As long as the cash is not fake :)

We dubizzled my Touraeg last year, low mileage, good price, it was gone within a few hours. You will have a harder time if its a car that doesn't sell well here or if it has high mileage / been involved in a crash etc. About to sell my explorer now and expecting a slightly harder time, but I will still Dubizzle. Wish me luck! :) You car is almost brand new though - have you asked the dealer for price? all sold now, at more then dealer offered :) yay :)

The guy did try to pull a fast one on me though, he said the clutch was slipping so tried to get a bigger discount, I very quickly informed him that automatics dont have a clutch. (I know nothing about cars but I just said that and acted very confident) All cars have a clutch mechanism, including automatics. It's just that in an automatic it isn't activated via a visible foot pedal. hence why I said the following: (I know nothing about cars but I just said that and acted very confident)

Seriously? "these people" (with 'THE' number) will find you if you post your cars on Dubizzle. Posted mine yesterday morning, was sold by afternoon. As we know Dubizzle can be full of timewasters....

I had my car posted on Dubizzle for weeks now, with no luck I have also seen ppl re posting their car ads! I wonder what are we doing wrong? Price to high? Make not one that re sells easily? High mileage? An unusual colour? We bought both my cars (that sold in 1 day on dubizzle) keeping re sale in mind, a car thats less then 3 years old, with low mileage and in good condition will sell fast if its one of the makes that do well as re sales. Not really, all normal. i might need to reduce the price, altho other cars that are similar are being listed on the same price...but color, make and mileage all normal i guess

The people who leave cards on your cars are specifically looking for 4X4 cars. They export them to Saudi as the 2nd hand 4X4 car market there is huge. I sold my Ford Explorer for 60k thru these guys and only paid 100k for it brand new 5 years ago so got a very good deal. He told me that Saudi's prefer 2nd hand imported cars for some reason. The guy did try to pull a fast one on me though, he said the clutch was slipping so tried to get a bigger discount, I very quickly informed him that automatics dont have a clutch. (I know nothing about cars but I just said that and acted very confident) He also said I had 2 traffic fines so i took those off the toal sale price, turns out I didnt have any fines at all. I witheld the bank liability letter until I got the money back from him.

These guys always give you a good price, they are efficient and do all the paperwork. They usually export the cars to Africa and other Arab countries where there is not a large luxury or 4 x 4 second hand market. The guy that bought my car came to my house, checked out the car, gave me Dhs 10,000 deposit to secure the car ( which I insisted was not necessary ) and met me at the garage to take my car when I picked up my new car.

DH just sold his car Toyota Avalon nearly new within 30 mns of placing the add on dubizzle . The buyer called within 5 mns, was home in 10 mns, took the car for a test drive around the block and bought it. Cannot believe it!

Wow, this sounds too good to be true. Are these guys legit? We're trying to sell a Lexus LX470 from America....a bit older (99) so not having the easiest time with it, despite being in great condition. Would be interested in their number, too!

Yes, we sold our Prado this way last year and got a fair price or it. From ringing the guy to exchanging cash was less than 2 hours! Cool. Thanks x
