Hi Everybody,

Is anybody drinking lactose free milk? I was diagnosed with being intolerant to lactose about 6 months ago, since then I have been using soya milk as a substitute, but it really is disgusting and I am really missing a decent cup of tea :(

In the UK they sell Lactose Free milk, which is milk with the lactose removed, does anybody know if this product is available out here?

TIA x

Just need to swallow a pill about the same size as a panodol before your meal :)

Hiya pollydxb, depending on your diagnosis you may also beable to take Dairy-Zymes by bluebonnet. My DH takes them if we are going out or feels like a treat :) we get our from the health shop op Geant (I think) at MOE. HTH Oooh, I should be able to (i guess) what are they - Dairy-Zymes? Looks like it might be a trip to Ibn this weekend

Al Marai make lactose free long-life milk, in the tetra packs. ETA: The tetra pack is long and thin (square from top), and its blue/white with "lactose free" in red. edited by DubaiMaman on 09/11/2011

Hi! Yup lactose free milk is available here - it"s the tetrapak stuff, so on the shelves with other longlife milk - I know Spinneys, Careefour and Lulus have it, as I buy it for my DD x Oh THANK you. Really, how have I been missing it all this time. Maybe looking under wrong section. What colour boxes are they in? Do they taste better than the soya?

Not sure about this, but have you tried the chemist? particularly a Boots chemist. They seem to do things like this, or even just a normal one might sell it. Maybe a health shop or the organic shop might have it too. Sorry I can't be more help. Good luck with the search.
