Have decided to give the Dukan diet a go!

Now just need to source some Oat Bran. The few pharmacies I have been to have not had any. Have any of you managed to find Oat Bran in Dubai? Do you know of any good health food stores I could try?

Oh and any advice from those of you who have tried the Dukan would be very welcome.......thanks in advance.

Just a warning for anyone that suffers from migraines - oat bran is actually a trigger for them and should be avoided. :( http://migrainefit.com/migraine/migraine-diet Interesting read, there! I am on the wheat bran wagon now and pretty happy about it, but I am happy to hear from everyone that is finding oat bran :)

Ok. I have the oatbran. But, my technical advisers have reviewed the fine print and said it is 49.7g per 100g of carbs. Isn't it meant to be carb free? What's the point of this stuff? :D Oh, and now what do I do with it? Make porridge or what? thanks... Sorry to ramble--I've also got a killer egg-free oat bran muffin recipe, if you want it!!!

Organic Cafe has Oat Bran, add some fat free yoghurt and fresh Vanilla and if you like it a little sweet use a bit of REPLAZE! My friends lost lots of weight with the Dukan Diet!! edited by Sibille on 22/01/2012 Sibile, is the yogurt Greek? I have found fat free, and organic Greek, but not fat free Greek Yogurt. I follow Fighter Diet lifestyle and missing my f/f Greek :( Beebers - I found "fat-free authentic Greek yoghurt" called "Total 0%" from a company called FAGE at Spinney's in Abu Dhabi - maybe Spinney's in Dubai would also have it? Now if I could just find oat bran - all the stores I've been to are out of stock. aha! Waitrose Marina Mall has the 0% by Fage and I got some tonight. thanks for the tip! Maybe they always had it and I never noticed! Muesli: Oat Bran is technically 27 carbs for every 1/3 cup dry. It is higher glycemic than rolled oats (marginally) but it is more nutrient dense and considered a higher fiber source. So the carbs are lower impact. I switch to wheat bran when I am trying to reduce because I can eat double the portion--and trust me--you know when carbs are 'passing thru" and acting more like free carbs then not. A suggestion for how to eat? I make it as hot cereal in the morning, and add psyllium husk powder to it after it is cooked, or another fiber blend I use from the US. I add cinnamon and sweetener like stevia or splenda, and when it cools a bit, add 1/2 tsp raw unsweetened cocoa, and 2 TBSP whey protein powder (isolate). It is yummy and convenient, and a perfect meal for breakfast! I look forward to it every morning! If you don't like whey protein (i can only tolerate one brand here) then maybe make a savory oat bran. Add a little pink salt, chili powder, nutmeg and dash cinnamon, and have some egg whites on the side, for your protein :)

Has anyone tried Shirataki noodles??? where can i buy some? Thanks :) Yes and I eat a package every night :) I have seen some folks talking about the tofu shiritaki, but I get the ones that are labeled "yam." They have nearly 0 carbs or calories, and here is the real benefit: the yam like plant from which they are made contains high amounts of glucomannan--an excellent fiber that not only improves your intestinal tract health, but keeps you full! I buy mine at Dean's Fujiya by Lamcy plaza. I am a regular there lol

I lost 4kg with Dukan....and gained back 6kg! :( I found the diet much harder than Atkins to be honest. I guess everyone needs to find what works for them. Atkins is easier for me. you do know why you gained back 6kg right? :)

a bit hit and miss with the Oat Bran, sometimes not in my local Choitram, and never in my local Spinneys...Holland & Barrett at Mirdiff CC used to stock it, and said they were getting more in...I have used the Infinity Foods brand, it is good and the Oatbran sprinkles. I use 2 tbsp per day and one x 500g seems to last about 3 weeks...
