lol! I was wondering where the heck all the oat bran has been! I don't want to be that person that sees 8 bags and picks them all up :/ I switched to wheat bran this week--not quite as satisfying.

just come back to Spinneys at MotorCity (non) they had oatmeal but it is not the same. Had lots of wheat bran which is useful for making the dukan galette. Popped into my local Choitram on way home and low and behold sat on the shelf were 2 x tubes of oat bran sprinkles by Mornflake - yeehaa so I grabbed them both!

Hi Everyone, thank you so much for your support, although I do not know any of you I do really appreciate your comments. I can report that it was the Mornflake Oat Bran I found, maybe Waitrose would have it too but not checked.....today I weighed in showing a total weightloss of 13.6kg.....now I have to go clothes shopping as I am wearing the dregs of the contents of my closet, which were sz16 I have kept.... Now that I am feeling a lot lighter I aim to ramp up on the exercise after Christmas, up until now I have not had the energy to lift myself for anything energetic but I feel a new sense of vitality. Re: alcohol, I am not sure Dukan would approve, and so far I have not taken any but perhaps the sugar free Red Bull at 8 cals a can may do the trick, or Bacardi & diet coke (a 25ml shot of bacardi is around 54 calories) anyway I will be having a glass or 2 of vino/bubbly on Christmas Day and New Years Eve

I lost 4kg with Dukan....and gained back 6kg! :( I found the diet much harder than Atkins to be honest. I guess everyone needs to find what works for them. Atkins is easier for me.

Hi I'm doing the Dukan. In Choitram Green Community we have oat bran (cereal section, orange cylinder), Total 0% fat greek yoghurt, virtually fat free cottage cheese, Onken fat free vanilla yoghurt, Onken Fat Free strawberry (with bits) and rhubarb (yaay!!) I started Oct 1st, and so far have lost 13.5 kg lost, 12 kg to go!!! It is a great diet, and the consolidation and stabilisation phases are the parts of the diet which appealed to me. No other diet provides this level of rehab back to normal eating patterns. Wow Loube - well done! Keep it up - you're doing great. Good Luck!

Thanks for the replies so far but i think what you are all recommending is the rolled oats ie. porridge which is a complex carbohydrate. Oat bran is the outer hsk of the oats that are not used in porridge. Supposedly, according to Dr Dukan, oat bran is a source of fibre without the huge carb hit. Still searching...... I was also definitely giving info about Oat bran. The brand Spinneys has in bags is called Mornflake Oatbran. I bought some at motor city Spinneys last night.

Hurrah! I found the aforementioned orange cylindrical box of Oat Bran in Al Wasl Choitram. Thanks for the descriptions. Day 1 of the Attack Phase of Dukan is now underway. Now all I need is a good dose of will power. BTW what is the situation with drinking a-----l during the Attach and Cruise Phases? I'm assuming it is forbidden :(

hi, always good to hear fellow dukaners (if thats our name) stories. I did the diet back in march and lost a lot of weight just in 1 month. Although moving here its creeping back on! Maybe after all the festivities are out of the way we could get together to get any advice, recipe ideas etc. So lets see.....We can chat over a black coffee and a chicken breast ;-)

Thank you all for the suggestions and the support. Looks like I haven't been looking properly when I was in Spinneys or that they weren't stocking it at the time. I will head out today with a better attitude ;) Loube, 13.5 kgs sounds amazing!! well done and positive energy for the rest of the way.

Yip definiltey can get it in Spinneys, the box one is sometimes where the organic products are... If you haven't done so yet, buy the Dukan Diet Recipe book... the recipes are quick and easy and very tasty.. Carrefour has Fromagie Fras fat free which he uses a lot and make the Oatbran Galette it is quite yummy. The diet is good, long but good results. Dont be suprised if you find yourself a bit tired with cutting out carbs... Good luck.

You can get oat BRAN in spinneys also in the area near the oats and oatmeal but it is hit and miss, sometimes it will be there other times it won't, you just have to stock up when it is on the shelves (and no i'm not referring to porridge either) edited by Sizzles on 10/12/2011

Ah, no, definitely not recommending the rolled oats or oatmeal. I also tried Dukan so obviously set out and found oat bran. As I mentioned below, I found it most often in Spinneys, in the same area as rolled oats and oatmeal.

Le Marche at AR usually has oat bran in boxes in the cereal aisle but didn't yesterday. spinneys Motor City has it in bags in cereal section (altho none of the staff know when you ask them)

I often buy it at Spinneys, just in with the regular rolled oats and cereals (in a plastic bag, not box), but as with all things here, they don't always have it. I've also bought it at the Organics Supermarket.
