Mickeyminnie, tried growing the hardy Phalanopsis variety, but did not have much luck. If grown indoors the aircon doesn't help and outdoors it is far too hot, especially in the summer. So gave up as I tried everything possible, given the weather conditions and nothing worked.
Looking for orchids. What orchids are sold in UAE. I have seen Phalenopsis and Dendrobium in the UAE.
Can you buy warmth tolerant Cymbidiums, Onicidiums, ect.... I grow mine in Texas heat outside in 95 to 105 degrees in summer kept moist and well watered. windy and dry in summer. Trying to convince husband I need to take orchid collection to UAE. I know they can live in the UAE if they can take Texas.
Do your plants grow well behind the tinted glass found on most homes in the UAE?
